About the adventure

The demonic Blood Mist that covered the lands for three centuries, draining the life out of anyone who dared to wander too far from their village, has suddenly and inexplicably lifted. You, and other restless souls like you, are finally free to leave your homes and travel far and wide in the Forbidden Lands, looking for treasures and adventures. Who will you become? ----- In this open-world hexcrawl experience, you'll be joining a band of raiders (not "adventurers" or "heroes," mind you!) to find fame and fortune and explore the wilds of the Forbidden Lands! You'll explore the world (it's a *gorgeous* map!), discover adventure sites, uncover the secrets behind the legends of the land, and--if you survive--build your own stronghold. You can expect: • A weekly game with a patient, reliable, and flexible DM. • Customizable player characters with lots of room for stories to emerge. • A player-driven world that changes based on your decisions. • An interesting wilderness full of secrets to uncover and locations to explore. • Well-played NPCs and complex factions that feel real. • A relaxed, fun atmosphere that feels like a home game. How to prepare

You'll need stable Internet, a reasonably decent-quality mic or headset (voice required, video optional but highly encouraged), and a Discord account. That's it! Once you're in, you'll have a couple things to do with Discord & whatnot, too.

What I provide

I'll bring a Foundry VTT world ready to go, a friendly Discord server, a decade of teaching experience (and lots of patience!), and a dedication to making sure we all have fun!

Gameplay details

We'll be using & respecting safety tools. The whole point is to have fun together! I'm pretty flexible in how we get to that fun, so you'll submit a content guidelines form ahead of the game to help guide me in what the table is comfortable and not comfortable with so I can adapt accordingly. As a general rule, you can step away at any time for any reason (if nothing else: I have toddlers. I get it.). X/N/O cards can be simply typed in the Foundry chat at any time, direct messaged on Discord or in Foundry chat, or even spoken aloud. After I bring the game to a formal close each session, we can decompress and talk about the game and the experience. You are more important than the game. (Do be aware that this setting is pretty grim & dark as written. It's a brutal world ... not much in the way of whimsy here!)

How will character creation work

Characters are quick and easy to make, and we'll create them together at the beginning of our first session! ========== Our first session will be a chill chance to ask questions, get characters sorted, talk about safety tools, and get to know a little of the virtual tabletop interface we'll be using (Foundry). Then we'll jump straight into the world! If you're joining after the first session, I'll hop on a short onboarding call with you to get you all squared away and ready for adventure.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
