About the adventure
This game will be played using 5E rules and the XCrawl setting created by Brendan J. Lasalle and Goodman Games for PF and DCC. XCrawl is a setting played in a modern-day fantasy America ruled by the North American Empire. Players take on the role of professional Crawlers: athlete adventurers who participate in pay-per-view, bloodsport dungeon-crawling. Good teams can win fame, fortune, even the favor of Emperor Ronald the Eternal. But bad teams will leave their blood on the dungeon floor and walk away with heads hung low or even with no heads at all. The dungeon designers play for keeps, and opposing teams may try to sabotage you if they think they can get away with it. Only the best rise to the top and live to crawl another day!

How to prepare
Players will need a mic and internet connection for voice chat. Video chat is optional. Battlemaps will be on Roll20 but are not required if players prefer theater of the mind. Dice rolling via Discord bot or Roll20

Gameplay details
The core of XCrawl is dungeon crawling, so players should expect a heavier combat experience and puzzling experience, with roleplay being a component mostly at beginning and end of sessions as their characters prepare for the Crawl and deal with any aftermath following.

How will character creation work
Characters will be built based on 5e published materials during session 0. Stats will be generated by dice roll as described in the PHB. I will not be using any homebrew races, classes, or subclasses. Unearthed Arcana may be used with approval during session 0.
