About the adventure

Enter the gritty war-torn world of the year 40,000 with hope in your heart and an energy-blaster in hand as the Ethereal have created a new Experimental Science Division to investigate emergent threats within the unexplored Third Sphere, recruiting from Terran, Tau, Kroot, Vespid and Eldar auxiliary forces. My homebrew Tau Empire Supplement features: seamless race-selection, all new Worlds, Backgrounds, Talents, Skills, the Tau Armory and the new Sniper role. There are many solar-systems to explore, new aliens to make contact with or subjugate as the Greater Good demands... as well as yet undiscovered stranger things afoot... They managed to recruit a Terran rogue-psyker whose parents wanted to save their son from the Black Ships. He promptly went insane within two sessions and tried to kill his Vespid handler, who now avoids CQC combat at all costs and usually has his gun in-hand. Vespid's are freaking amazing, a player with flight is awesome really makes you think outside the box as a GM and opens a whole new box for all players to think outside the box. Kroot Stealth + their Natural Camo in Treecover can also be pretty OP he took out three Dark Eldar without much of a fight and there weren't even that many trees. The Vespid player flew behind the Dark Eldar line thanks to the Kroot making so much noise in the distance and flew right up the ramp to close their ship on them from inside. Pirates don't exactly have click-openers so as a GM I'm... *sigh* Are you amongst the scientists the Dark Eldar Slavers have taken for this coming session? That would give you a *FREE* Science (Telecommunications) Talent for your character sheet for spending time at a Tau Science Outpost. They sure could use your help for what's coming... and the more Tau in party the more useful their "For the Greater Good" racial ability is going to be.

How to prepare

All you need is Discord and mic. If you have your own d100 (2d10 different colors) that'd be great as I prefer everyone to make their own rolls but I can roll for you if you don't have those dice. What I love about Dark Heresy is it's all d100 percentage based, which makes it easier on me as the GM and also you the player especially if you're new to RPG's as you can just think like logically based on my character's related stat how likely am I to succeed at X? I'm also more than willing to drop hints based on some good playing OR excellent rolls b/c DH2e is BRUTAL.

What I provide

For your consideration I present the first draft of my DH2e Tau Empire Supplement featuring Terran, Eldar, Tau, Kroot and Vespid as playable races, the Tau armory, new Worlds, Backgrounds, Talents, Skills and the Sniper Role. Game is free-roaming open-world with many solar-systems in Third, Second, and First Sphere Tau sectors a main storyline and many subplots including one-shot single-player sessions unlocked after 3+ sessions that explore the character's background and unlock some character specific goodie (ie: Vespid Proton-crystal right of passage, Kroot culinary delicacies, Tau Bonding-Sword, etc.)

Gameplay details

My sessions seem to be naturally broken up into: Exploration, Investigation, Brutal Combat and Role-Play sessions It's only loosely decided by me, I run my games largely to be open-world free-roaming player-driven, but with a main storyline and many subplots leading to uncovering plots by various adversaries to "The Greater Good" depending on what the players want/do.

How will character creation work

I prefer we do it together using my Tau Empire Supplement I integrated race-selection right after world selection, you just add or minus the race modifiers before selecting background, which unlocks race-specific backgrounds for every race including my personal favorite "Stranger in a Strange Land" available only to Vespid and Terrans. I use traditional 2d10 for generating stats rolling 3d10 for world modifiers taking highest two for + modifier and lowest for - modifier. Then add or minus race modifiers off the race-selection chart and roll for Wounds.
