About the adventure

The ingestion of the flesh of other intelligent creatures, especially one’s own people, is a nearly universal taboo among civilized folks. There are those, however, who secretly crave such sustenance, believing they gain vile power from eating such forbidden fare. For centuries they have worked in the shadows below the city streets. But that all changes when a group of adventurers are put to the task to deliver light to the darkness. In this thrilling adventure you stand up against the vile acts of the living and dead below the city streets. The future of the city hangs in the balance as you go toe to toe with cultists, vampires, a powerful wizard and swarms of undead eager to make the surface world their own domain. Connect the dots, discover what links these seemingly disparate groups, and perhaps you will find your place amongst the greatest heroes of history. 🧟‍♀️Destroy treacherous undead cults whos hunger can not be sated 🩸Fight vampires and their thralls to the bloody death 🧙🏽‍♂️Match wits with an evil wizard hellbent on world domination You will be joining a stable group who has played 20+ sessions together and are looking for more heroes to join the cause. Expect plenty of roleplay in a reactive world and difficult encounters to challenge and thrill as we take the fight below the city and beyond. This is a custom adventure, with the amazing world of Midgard as the backdrop -- tuned to the backgrounds and stories the players want to tell together. We can't wait for you to join us. Grab an ale, gear up, and join us on an adventure of a lifetime. Art used with permission c Dean Spencer art. DM Eric V does not utilize AI generative art or text.

Gameplay details

🗣️Fights Matter, and Roleplay is emphasized: There will be plenty of combat, but note that my games generally feature a high level of roleplay between party members and NPCs of the world. Roleplay and dramatic storytelling are emphasized. Make a character that is both fun to play and play with. 🔋We promote a positive and safe place to play together: I aim for an immersive experience where players work together and look forward to playing with each other each week. Do what your character would do, but never at the expense of others. To be blunt, if you are a jerk, gatekeeper, bigot, cheater, are over competitive, power game to the point of rules exploits, hog the spotlight, or a bad sport, this is not the table for you. PVP is not allowed. No Evil Characters. Respect narrative consent and be a team player. Problematic play of any kind is not tolerated. 🦺Content Warning and Safety: This adventure features themes of cannibalism, body horror, gore, adult-themed cults, unholy rituals, physical restraint, murder, death, undeath, decay, sacrifice, rats, crawling insects, and other terrible things. You play epic heroes fighting against these forces. The campaign does not contain explicit sexuality, sexual assault, systemic racism, homophobia, or transphobia. Allegories of racial prejudice have been cut from the official setting, and scenes encountering enslaved people have been minimized or cut out completely. Safety system based on the TTRPG Safety Toolkit by Kienna Shaw and Lauren Bryant-Monk utilizing Red X, Yellow N, and Green O cards built into the VTT. 📐Expect a game that follows Rules as Written (RAW), but note flavor is free. Some of the house rules you should know about: Healing potions took as a bonus action No flanking for advantage Any PC can use scrolls with an Arcana check If you are playing a class with summons, keep a maximum of four (4) Luck system replaces inspiration (from Black Flag packet 2) ⛔Zero tolerance policy for harassment or discrimination based on race, creed, color, gender, sexual orientation, etc. DM reserves the right to remove a player immediately if violating any of the ground rules.

How will character creation work

CHARACTERS ARE LEVEL 6 I aim to provide an enjoyable RPG experience for everyone at the table. Character creation should be emphasized not to create invincible, video-game-type characters that always succeed and can never die - but to play something fun and fun to play WITH. If you are new to DnD and want to pick a pre-generated character, go for it! Pregens are available in Roll20, and I will help you choose one that fits your needs. You are free to make a character in D&D Beyond, but a sheet in Roll20 is encouraged for access to a tremendous amount of 3rd party material by Kobold Press and more. You can create your character using nearly anything from: The Players Handbook, Xanathar’s Guide to Everything, Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything, and Mordenkainen Presents Monsters of the Multiverse, as most options will be compatible with the setting. You are encouraged to pick setting-specific races and classes published by Kobold Press; from the Midgard Heroes Handbook, Margreve Players Guide, and the Southlands Players Guide.

Players can expect
