About the adventure
Welcome to BurnBryte! This will be an introduction to the Burn Bryte system, as well as a playthrough of the first part of the adventure "Burning Daylight"! BurnBryte is an original RPG system created to be used exclusively in Roll20! It takes place in a galaxy far away, in which a massive mysterious force called "The Burn" is slowly destroying or warping the galaxy itself. The players play members of strange alien species who venture around the galaxy. The story begins: "After responding to a distress call in the Ghost Belt, you managed to save a crew of botanists and their specimens from the Burn. You even fought off the pirates looking to steal and sell their hallucinogenic plants. You deserve a break. Good thing the scientists asked for a lift to Ozobny, where a vast city of pleasures covers the planet’s surface. The overguild-run planet caters to those with money to spend. There are casinos, fine dining, nightclubs, bars, spas, concerts, karaoke, theater, and more. It is a great place to spend a few days recuperating... "

How to prepare
All that is needed is a working mic and headphones. We will be playing on Roll20 and using Discord for voice chat. You will not need a web camera. You will, however, need a Roll20 account and a Discord account (both of which are free). Links to the Roll20 game and Discord channel will be provided upon sign-up.
What I provide
I will bring my experience with Roll20 and knowledge of this system and adventure, and will give access to the rules compendium for BurnBryte (rules, roles, skills, ability paths, safety tools, etc.) to the players via the Roll20 game.
Gameplay details
Burn Bryte is a Roll20 exclusive system that focuses on the stories of adventurers in a galaxy threatened by Burn, a mysterious force that has already consumed most of the universe. The system relies on the use of eighteen different skills. Skills are assigned a die from d4 up to d12, and success is determined by the presence of double results after rolling. (ie. John wants to hack the system and uses Computers. The GM informs them it is a Complexity 3 roll. John has a d10 in Computers and rolls 3d10. He gets a 3, 10, and 4, which means they are successful in their hack). Rolls are narrative and justified by players, with their actions determining the results. GMs don't roll, but rather let players respond to the world and handle oncoming threats. Combat is made to allow players be the heroes they want to be, while also keeping the narrative flow of the story. With use of the Burn Bryte character sheets, rolling is simpler than ever before. This game involves the following CWs: Fire, Explosions, Lasers, Terrorism Attack, Kidnapping, and Violence This game will use the following Safety Tools: Lines & Veils, Open-Door Policy, and the Burn Bryte Safety Deck.
