How to prepare

A decent microphone is a must. After that, you'll need a Roll20 and a Discord account, both are free! This is a unique setting so assume little on the cultures of the various character races.

Gameplay details

Players should expect combat to be a common experience throughout the game. Character death is on the table, but should be uncommon. Play smart. Roleplay is a staple element of the campaign and sometimes you will face tough decisions. Puzzles, riddles and hidden clues can be found throughout the campaign, but they are less frequent. The campaign deals with dark themes, but there is plenty of room for levity, jokes, and a bit of tom foolery. While you will have freedom in the narrative to make your choices and play your character, make your characters with ambition and a want for something greater. Unmotivated characters will not be very fun in this campaign. We will be using a combination of Roll20 for gameplay and character sheets, and Discord for audio and messaging. If you have D&D Beyond, you may use it for character creation, but be sure to send a link to your character.

How will character creation work

Character creation will take place in a session 0, where we'll integrate backstories, go over rules and player boundaries, and get a feel for the group as a whole. Characters start at level 2 and start off with a feat! (Variant humans don't get two) Due to the setting, character races are limited to Humans, Elves, Dragonborn, Orcs, Gnomes, Dwarves, and Reborn. Some races even have new abilities.
