About the adventure

In Edge of the Empire you play as characters on the fringes of the galaxy, the infamous Outer Rim. As a spacer, smuggler, merchant, bounty hunter, or some other shady character you will deal with the Hutts, the Black Sun, and other morally dubious factions and characters far from the eyes of the Galactic Empire. The game is a combination of modules Escape from Mos Shuuta, Long Arm of the Hutt, and Trouble Brewing to start with, but it has also been expanded with additional homebrew content designed to give you a long and fulfilling adventure on a number of planets in the Outer Rim. You will fly the Kessel Run, visit the factories of Geonosis, rob the Hutts of Tattooine, and maybe even meet a familiar face or two caught in the conflict between the Rebels and the Empire as you try to get rich quick and retire before your past catches up to you and someone puts you in a block of carbonite. The adventure takes place during the time of the Galactic Empire, after the destruction of the first Death Star in A New Hope but before the Battle of Hoth in Empire Strikes Back and uses the Edge of the Empire system from Fantasy Flight Games, which perfectly evokes the feeling of the galaxy far far away and lets the players tell their own stories among the trillions of stars.

Additional Details

How to prepare

A mic and a web browser (laptop, PC, Mac...) are required to play. No installation is required as everything is browser-based. Knowledge of the rules is not required because the game is open to beginners.

What I provide

I bring FoundryVTT, the most powerful virtual tabletop (dynamic lighting, music, character and gameplay automation), extensive knowledge of the rules, years of experience as a GM, deep and adaptive storytelling, and silly voices.

Gameplay details

You can expect varied ambiance music and immersive artwork representing different scenes, as well as silly voices for different NPCs (they're not intended to be silly, I'm just not a professional voice actor but someone who wants you to have a good time). Character sheets and game mechanics will be fully automated to help you use the system to its full potential and all rolls will be made in the open since I never fudge. Combat is fair and always in service to the story instead of being a pointless slog designed to waste time. I will strive to incorporate your character's backstory into the campaign so you can shape the story with me instead of just going through a railroaded experience. After each session we will have a short conversation about the session, giving you a chance to voice your opinion on everything that happened.

How will character creation work

Characters will be created in FoundryVTT with all Edge of the Empire books unlocked and players are free to use any species and careers/specializations in the books. Character creation will be done with my assistance during Session 0 and will then be playtested to make sure that the characters fit what the players envisioned (session 0 is free).

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
