About the adventure

While the town of Otari has seen great success as a lumber town over time, it was created under tumultous circumstances. Those circumstances have always been at the back of the inhabitants' minds, for the Gauntlight, a massive lighthouse, can be seen from the town. For hundreds of years it lay dormant. Now you, brave adventurer, will have to figure out why it is lighting up once more - and what secrets are hidden beneath the lighthouse. Uncover the mysteries of the town of Otari and the Gauntlight in this Pathfinder 2e adventure! It will run from level 1 to level 11, and is particularly well-adapted to people looking to start their foray into Golarion and the Pathfinder Second Edition system. The main attraction of this module is that it centers around a Megadungeon, and it is considered by the Pathfinder community to be one of the best Adventure Paths, whether you're a beginner or not. While applicants should expect more combat than my average game, Abomination Vaults is also rife with all sorts of intrigue, mystery, and roleplaying opportunities. Well? Will you be part of the heroes that reveal the secrets of Otari and the Gauntlight?

How to prepare

You will need headphones, a microphone, and a personal computer (Foundry does not work on tablets or mobile devices). You will also need Discord and an account on the Forge; no purchase is necessary for either of those.

What I provide

- A link to the Foundry server, hosted on the Forge - The full premium module experience - Music, to add to what is provided - Handouts, provided by the module and modified if needed - PF2e content is already provided, for free, by Foundry As to what I bring that distinguishes me from others that are running the same Adventure Path: - I will be fully integrating the players' backstories into the module, in order to improve immersion. - I bring the experience of someone who has run many modules, and know what pitfalls can await players there. - I bring the experience of someone who has run for many Pathfinder 2e beginners, and knows how to ease them into the system.

Gameplay details

During Session 0, I usually go over the content warnings expected for this game, and I make sure my players are not only comfortable with those, but check up if they have anything to add. I also go over the expectations of the players and my expectations as a DM as well. There is a 10 minute break in the middle of the session (usually around two hours after start time). I check up on my players' feelings verbally once the session has ended. I ask if they had fun and encourage them to provide feedback, either in public or in private. Regarding house rules, those will be determined during Session 0. I have a few house rules that are set in stone; such as the benefits of using Recall Knowledge, and I allow Hero Points to be used on hidden rolls. Those can still be re-negotiated during Session 0 if needed.

How will character creation work

A Player's Guide, created by Paizo, will be provided to all players before Session 0. This guide contains information relevant to players trying to integrate their character within the setting of the town of Otari. Character creation is done during Session 0. Characters will start at level 1. A player may pre-plan their character as much as they would like, but it is heavily recommended that they go through Session 0 before settling on any final details.
