About the adventure

Welcome to Strixhaven University, a newly opened institution of magic, where spellcasting meets mayhem, and your journey begins. Dive into your first year of academic studies where you meet brilliant professors, valiant classmates, and terrifying villains who will all push you to the limits of your academic knowledge. Pull all nighters, attend magical ragers, and unlock your potential as the story progresses and you become accustom to the magical world around you. THE PLOT: Something deep, dark, and ancient looms over Strixhaven and it has already claimed the life of Vanessa Von Karma, a diligent student who was found asleep in the study rooms of the library and never woke up. No one knows exactly what happened to her. No one knows why more students are falling asleep. It's up to your and your academic allies to figure out what happened before more people slip into coma. OWN YOUR STORY: Whether you're here for romance, drama, or just plain chaos, your choices shape your destiny and the destiny of the school itself. Decide for yourself whose side you're on and work with others in order to move the story forward. GM NOTE: This game will be roleplay heavy. There will be combat, I promise but I enjoy roleplay so it's good to let potential players know.

About me

Hi, my name is Mina and I'd love to be your dungeon master! My Dungeon Master style tends to be more loose and accepting. I love homebrew (as long as it's balanced) and I love hearing everyone's different ideas! The rule of cool is my best friend so expect to see crazy and incredible things happen in my games you wouldn't see happening anywhere else. As a writer with a AAA game under my belt, you should expect to meet engaging NPCs, worlds tailored just for your party, and villains you love to hate! I try my hardest to be inclusive so if you've ever been worried that you won't fit into a group because of your gender identity, disabilities, race, or sexuality, my table is open and always welcomes you! So pull up a chair at my table and let's have fun together!

Character creation

Creating your character

A session zero will take place where all players can meet, make their characters, and discuss their characters connections to one another. If a player is not interested in joining the session zero, they are free to skip it but their character MUST be given to me 2 DAYS before game start. Homebrew is allowed but must be approved by me first. Characters can be made directly into the roll20 we are using or made in dndbeyond with the Beyond20 extension.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Please have a discord account and be in the discord before the game begins. Other than that, we will be using roll20 for the actual battlemaps/combats (which I will provide the link for). If you are using dndbeyond and beyond20 please have those ready as well.

What Mina Guadalupe brings to the table

I will be providing ambient music, combats, maps, NPC character arc, etc. My style is a very loose and fun DnD where the rule of cool takes precedence (as long as it doesn't break the game). I'm all for balanced homebrew, and fun plans that could cause chaos in the long run. As long as everyone is having fun at the table, we're all good!

Homebrew rules

At the beginning of each game, any single player can give the week's recap (in character!) and get inspiration. Inspiration does not stack. (This is NOT mandatory)

Safety

How Mina Guadalupe creates a safe table

We will be having a session zero for players so that they can put together their character sheet and figure out how their characters know each other. We use lines and veils in our games. I also keep a list of everyone's triggers (I will ask before the game begins and you can tell me privately or in the discord group itself) so that I never accidentally trigger someone. Ultimately, one of my first priorities is to make sure that the game is safe, fun, and comfortable for everyone! With that in mind, there is also an open door policy with no hard feelings!
