About the adventure
Session 0 will be free. You do not need to have any knowledge or experience with Warcraft to take part in this campaign, I will make sure everything is understandable to newcomers as well as veterans. The Lich King has awoken! With his undead scourge overrunning their kingdoms, the forces of the Horde and the Alliance have launched a desperate offensive to Northrend, attempting to swiftly take the Lich Kings seat of power, and put an end to his invasion before the defenders back home will be overwhelmed. Their swift action did bear fruit, as the Lich King was forced to return to his Citadel, to take charge of his defense. But with his presence, progress against the relentless undead has all but halted. In order to not loose what they have so painfully gained, the Alliance and Horde have put together a second wave of forces, composed of soldiers, conscripts and adventurers, to relieve their now beset offensive, and push their forces to victory. In this campaign I want to guide you through a journey across the frozen continent of Northrend, to take the fight all the way to the Lich King himself, in an experienced loosely based on the World of Warcraft expansion Wrath of the Lich King. There will be plenty of Combat, but I also made sure to leave room for roleplay, social encounters, and non-combat solutions. The party will play as brave warriors of the Horde, joining the fight against the undead and invigorating the stagnated war effort in an attempt to save all of Azeroth, and become legendary heroes while you're at it. I have put a lot of work into adapting what I think are the core parts of the Horde experience of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion as faithfully as possible, while keeping this a DnD campaign first and foremost, and I am excited to run this.

About me
Hey there, I'm Lukas, I'm an amateur writer, an avid reader and a gamer. I love Fantasy and Sci-Fi books and narrative focused games of all kinds. I love imersing myself in complex and expansive worlds, and i am passionate about creating such myself. I had my start in TTRPGs when the pandemic started, as so many of us did, and it's been one of my favorite hobbies from the start. I've been either playing or GMing consistently since then, playing different systems and running both homebrew worlds and pre-written adventures.

Creating your character
First off i will say that, while i do very much encourage choosing one of the Warcraft themed class/subclass options from the book, I will not ban or discourage you from playing any class/subclass combo that is available to you on D&DBeyond. The world of Azeroth is vast, and while things like Bards and Artificers may not be playable classes in World of Warcraft, they do exist in the world. You will however be limited in the species available to you. As this campaign is set in Azeroth, during the time of Wrath of the Lich King, and on the side of the Horde, you can only choose species that make sense for that setting. Thus available races are Orcs, Forsaken, Tauren (Mulgore and Tanuka Lineage), Trolls (Amani and Darkspeer Lineage), Elves (Blood- and High elf Lineage), Goblins, and Ogres (which are not in the book, but I have decided that Hill Giant Goliaths would be suiting them). During Session 0 we will "lock in", so to speak, your characters (tho you are of course welcome to think about and discuss beforehand what you want to play). And the final details will be put in place before Session 1.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You need a discord account and an account on DnDBeyond. And of course a decent microphone and stable internet connection.
What Lukas brings to the table
I will provide a large library of character options to choose from on DnDBeyond, as well as Maps and Tokens for fun and tactical combat encounters. I generally run my games with Rules as Intended, and am absolutely willing to bend or break rules if it makes for a cool moment. At my table there are neither stupid questions nor bad roleplay. If you have any questions about how something works, or need help with anything regarding your character or the game, you can ask without judgement, and similarly you don't have to worry about bad accents or being an inexperienced rollplayer. This is about having fun after all.
Homebrew rules
I use a few relatively common homebrew rules, -Drinking potions is a bonus action, but you can use an action instead to heal the full amount and not roll. -Brutal Criticals (dice roll + max damage).

How Lukas creates a safe table
This is a game, so first and foremost it is important that everyone is having fun and is feeling comfortable. Before the game starts will be using a consent checklist to make sure we avoid triggering topics. There will be a session 0 where we will go over the themes of the campaign again, as well as the safetly tools. And if during the game anybody feels uncomfortable with anything, we use X cards and we can allways interrupt the game to ensure no lines are crossed.
