About the adventure
Sands of Doom is an exploration and survival focused game; with an Egyptian and Arabian inspired setting, with a dash of Dragon Age and other dark fantasy tropes thrown in for good measure. The party starts off joining an expedition to The Great Pyramid, the find of a lifetime for the tomb-delving tieflings of Al'Kirat, only to get caught up in an ancient pharaoh's war to reclaim his undead empire, meanwhile dodging prophetic cults, gunslingers and the natural threats of the desert wasteland.

About me
Hi, I am Sam I'm a Scottish Autistic looking to make his long-term hobby of TTRPGs into a stable source of income. My nerd background is in fantasy having fallen in love with LotR at a young age and having consumed tomes of many worlds since but I also have a great love for cosmic horror and obviously the myriad nerd interests i.e. comics, anime, sci-fi, internet horror (creepypasta, SCP), etc. I enjoy GMing games of D&D (with 10yrs experience and 30+ different players), though I have been looking recently to get into other systems. These games have been a central part of my life since high school, and my outlet both for creativity and opening up socially and through them did I learn my passion for writing and art which have also become burgeoning professional interest in the past couple years. My hope in taking this professionally is to be able to provide for those around me and gain a sense of purpose as well as to give back to this community which has given so much to me especially those needing a place to open up, create and meet friends like I did as kid.

Creating your character
The campaign takes players from level 1 to 11. Character creation will be handled in session 0, but if you have any pre-existing ideas, feel free to bring them (the only restriction is official content only and no Spelljammer races).
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The game will be run out of Roll20 and Discord for voice (Camera is optional).
What DemonhunterGM brings to the table
I enjoy using voices to distinguish characters as well as music to set the scene (particularly since this game comes with an OST). In so far as gameplay I am RP focused and try to bring character's backstories into the game as well as help write them to fit the setting. In combat, I know the rules well but give leeway when they get in the way of fun. Moreover, if there is ever any scene or aspect you want to see brought up, I am happy to write it in and work around player expectations.
Homebrew rules
I usually run potions as a bonus action and crunchy crits (the first die is treated as max). There are some additional new rules for survival from the campaign book that will be discussed in sessions 0.

How DemonhunterGM creates a safe table
In session 0, we'll go over lines and veils, which I'll make sure to work the plot around and during the session we'll use red and yellow cards, either verbally asking for a pause or typing the colour in the Roll20 chat, whichever is easier. After session if anyone needs or wants to I like to do debriefs as well, on what went well or not to improve cohesion session to session.
