About the adventure
Something is terribly wrong in Palebank Village. A mysterious illness is threatening the lives of its people. When a local explorer returns from an expedition gravely ill, the search for answers leads beyond the village and into the frozen wilderness of Eiselcross. What is causing the illness? What happened on the expedition? And what secrets lie buried beneath the ice? Welcome to Frozen Sick, your introduction to Dungeons & Dragons! Set in the world of Wildemount, this adventure invites you to investigate a mystery, explore a dangerous frozen frontier, meet memorable characters, and face challenges alongside your fellow adventurers. You'll search for clues, question suspicious characters, navigate the frozen wastes, and confront dangerous creatures. Your choices matter, and creative solutions are always welcome. Learn D&D by Playing Never played D&D before? You're in the right place! This campaign is designed to help beginners learn the game through an actual adventure, not a classroom lesson. I'll guide you through the basics as we play, including rolling dice, using your character's abilities, roleplaying, exploring, and participating in combat. You don't need to memorize the rules or know exactly what to do. Ask questions, try things out, and learn at your own pace. If you've played before, you're welcome too! You'll have plenty of opportunities to investigate, strategize, develop your character, and help your fellow adventurers. Your First Adventure Awaits Join the Dawnsworn Adventuring Party and venture into the frozen north. Work together, get creative, make discoveries, and experience what makes Dungeons & Dragons special. A village needs your help. The wilderness holds the answers. And something lies buried beneath the ice. Are you ready to roll your first dice and begin your adventure?

About me
I started GMing about four years ago for a group of friends. What began as something I wanted to try has grown into a long-running game that we’ve continued playing together ever since. I’ve loved D&D long before I became a GM. I spent years watching actual plays, learning about the game, and digging into the technical side of running sessions. Over time, that interest naturally turned into a passion for creating and running games of my own. One of my favorite parts of being a GM is crafting stories and worlds for my players to explore. I love seeing the unexpected ways players interact with a world, solve problems, and shape the story through their own decisions. While I may have an idea of where a story could go, I enjoy letting the players’ choices create moments I never could have planned myself. For me, a great D&D game is a collaborative story where everyone gets the chance to contribute, have fun, and create memorable moments together.

Creating your character
Not sure what to play? Don't worry! During Session 1, we'll take time to create your character together. I'll walk you through the different races, classes, abilities, and backgrounds, helping you understand what each option means and how it affects the way you play. Have an idea for a character but don't know how to bring it to life? We'll work on it together! Prefer to explore your options first? That's perfectly fine, too. I'll help you find a character that fits your interests and playstyle, whether you want to be a mighty warrior, a clever rogue, a powerful spellcaster, or something entirely different. You don't need to know the rules or have a character ready before joining. We'll learn the basics as we go, and I'll make sure you feel comfortable with your character sheet before we dive into the adventure. By the end, you'll have your very own adventurer, ready to explore the world of Frozen Sick and discover the stories you'll tell together. All you need to bring is your imagination and a willingness to try something new!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Required Accounts You'll need free accounts on Discord and Roll20 for communication and gameplay. You do not need to purchase a subscription to either platform. Once your place in the campaign is confirmed, I'll send you invitations to our private Discord channel and Roll20 game, where our maps and virtual tabletop will be hosted. Optional: A Second Screen For a smoother experience, consider having your character sheet open on your phone, another screen, or a separate device while playing. This makes it easier to reference your abilities, spells, and actions without switching away from the game.
What Rgee Bautista brings to the table
An Immersive Experience I'll provide maps and ambient music through Roll20 to help bring the world to life and immerse you in the adventure. NPC Voices and Roleplay I'll do my best to give NPCs their own voices and personalities, making conversations and encounters more engaging. Balanced but Meaningful Combat I'll do my best to balance encounters for the party while keeping them challenging. Your characters won't always have an easy fight, so think strategically, work together, and be prepared for the unexpected! Rules and the Rule of Cool The rules provide the foundation for our game, but there's always room for creativity. If you have a cool or unconventional idea, tell me what you want to do, and let's see if we can make it happen! We'll work out what's possible, and when the outcome is uncertain, the dice will help decide your success. Above all, I'll provide a table where your choices matter, creativity is encouraged, and everyone has the freedom to shape their own adventure.
Homebrew rules
Every D&D table is a little different! While I'll teach you the official rules as we play, I also use a few homebrew rules and table guidelines that I believe enhance the experience, encourage creativity, and help make our games more enjoyable for everyone. Don't worry if you're new to D&D. I'll explain any relevant rules as they come up, so you won't need to memorize everything before we begin. All our house rules, homebrew mechanics, and table guidelines are available on our Discord server, The Unwritten Realms. Once you've joined, please take a moment to visit the START HERE section and read through the rules before our session. This will help everyone start on the same page and ensure we have a fun, fair, and welcoming experience together. If anything is unclear, feel free to ask! Questions are always welcome.

How Rgee Bautista creates a safe table
Our first session is a Session 0 with all players. What is a Session 0? It is a relaxed introduction where we'll create your character together, learn the basic rules, meet your fellow adventurers, and get familiar with our tools and table guidelines. During Session 0, we'll cover: Table Safety: Discuss everyone's Lines and Veils and how to use the Pause Card if anyone needs a moment during play. Character Introductions: Introduce our characters and get to know the party. Campaign Briefing: Go over the campaign's premise, setting, expectations, and what you can look forward to. Hands-On Practice: Spend around 30 minutes getting comfortable with roleplay, Roll20, dice rolls, and basic game mechanics through a short practice encounter. The goal is to make sure everyone feels comfortable, understands how our table works, and is ready to jump into the adventure when Session 1 begins. **If you have any questions for me directly, you may bring it up during Session 0 or ask me for some 1-on-1 time. I will be happy to accommodate **For everyone’s peace of mind, all games are audio recorded to help with session notes and to provide an extra layer of protection for everyone at the table. If a dispute or concern ever comes up, the recording may be reviewed as a reference to help clarify what was said or agreed upon during the session.
