About the adventure

Veeris is a island city state of opportunity and privilege. Her people have the freedom to do whatever they wish to make a living. Even the most simple farmer can live comfortably off the 1 or 2 crop they attend. More effort and ambition begets greater rewards but also demands greater responsibility. This is why Veeris' greatest export are sell swords also known as Mercenaries and Adventurers. Unlike the humble farmer, you must have ambition in your blood to even pass as a low tier adventurer, for the service your provide not only brings wealth to the city, but the means to protect itself. You have chosen to join the life of an official adventurer under the training of one of the many guilds in the city, who in turn is directly intertwined with the most prestiges and deadly of academies, Green Witch Stronghold. You'll take what you learn from this academy and work for the betterment of your guild, become an asset to the common folk of the city and realms beyond, or frankly, you'll die trying. Such is the life of a adventurer.

About me

I've thrown myself into the art of what makes the collab, adlibbed and structured experience that is ttrpgs, and I want to continue to share the best of what I've learned in my adult life and in turn be changed and challenged by the creativity and passion of my players. My go to system is Cypher, with its freedom of choice tool kit but very easy to grasp core, allowing me to run the mix of fantasy and sci fi that i find is lacking in titles that hold tightly to their settings or genres. In my games I don't just agree that samurai and robots should fight, i can and will explain how it makes perfect sense that they can.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will have one session 0 for free to introduce each other, quickly build characters and test out builds, and get some fun backstory for your characters. Some of yall may even wanna mix and mingle your lore together, but overall session 0 will be the core of character building and safety set up.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We would use Discord for audio calls, no video needed. Artwork taken from online is fine or any drawing you have BUT there will be a push for non known ai work. If you find something that we discover later is AI no worries, just nothing made intently through AI Roll20 will be a our virtual table top (vtt), as it has a dedicated cypher segment and is less intrusive on everyone's pcs. Ill help you log in and sing up, no extra charges will be needed, its basically just a browser site well use to play the game

What Joshua Hitz (BasilStrikes) brings to the table

I will provide all current and previous books for the Monte Cook Games system, meaning thousands of pages of options and character choices while still helping narrow down the choice pool to not be overwhelmed. I also have a vast amount of artwork pre purchased from several other games to allow us plenty of visual aid and tools for npcs and monsters alike.

Homebrew rules

We generally will use Cypher core, but Cypher is a system built to be messed with. Consistency will be key but ill also have lots of fun letting you guys get wild.

Safety

How Joshua Hitz (BasilStrikes) creates a safe table

We will have everyone fill out the Monte Cook Games safety tools sheet to get an idea of what is and isn't ok at the table, then have deeper talks during session one for clarity. the tools aren't meant to replace talks just give guidance and structure to the talks.
