About the adventure
You aren't just playing a tabletop RPG; you are the stars of a live, weekly intergalactic broadcast. This premium, high-energy campaign brings the chaotic reality-TV madness of Dungeon Crawler Carl to life, streaming live to a real audience. If you’ve ever wanted to hunt for viewer boxes, dodge insane environmental traps, and win over a live chat that acts as the game’s capricious AI, this is your stage. Every triumph, critical fail, and desperate deal for clout will be captured in full production quality. IMPORTANT (READ BEFORE BOOKING): Because this campaign is a weekly livestream, all players must have a reliable internet connection, a clean webcam, and a high-quality, broadcast-ready microphone. By joining, you are consenting to be on camera and featured in our public video archives. We are looking for enthusiastic, roleplay-forward players who want to build a memorable show together—no professional acting experience required, just great energy and a desire to survive the dungeon! The DCC universe is about average, everyday people being thrown into a chaotic situation, so being a little unpolished or awkward is all on brand. <START SYSTEM AI MESSAGE> HELLLLLLLLOOOOOOOO CRAWLERS! Welcome to the World Dungeon. Your home world has been flattened to make a reality show for trillions across the galaxy. So, be proud. Your death will be televised. The Borant Corporation has high hopes that you'll survive the dungeon long enough that we can sell some merch! You'll be given all the tools to survive and then you're own your own. I mean, you can't expect us to invest too much into you at this stage, can you? So, pull yourself together and show some backbone... or one of the mobs will show it for you. And remember, as always: KILL! KILL! KILL! <END SYSTEM AI MESSAGE> WHAT TO EXPECT: I’ve been running tabletop RPGs for decades, and in this campaign, together, we're building a long-form DCC campaign where the players actually drive what happens. This isn't Carl or Donut's story, IT IS YOURS! You’ll be creating your own crawlers and making your own decisions. The campaign will use the DCC universe, its rules, its insanity, and its escalating dungeon, but the story will develop around what your party actually does. This campaign is designed to continue floor by floor, potentially all the way to the end of the Dungeon. PS. That's a picture of my actual cat, Boba, and how she would look in the Dungeon... I imagine 😉

About me
Hi. I’m David aka Evil Penguin. When I was 11 years old, an older neighbor kid told me how cool this book he was reading was called Lord of the Rings. So, I read it myself. At that age, this was the first adult novel I had ever read. By the time I finished the series, I knew that all I wanted to do in life was tell stories half as good as that story. That same neighbor kid and I started playing D&D together and I’ve not looked back since. I went on to study creative writing in college before eventually ending up working professionally in the film industry (that’s my day job). So, a lot of what I bring to the table comes from years of thinking about storytelling, pacing, character moments, when to build and release tension, and creating memorable experiences for an audience. As a GM, my focus is simple: I want everyone to have fun and feel like they were an active part of an incredible story. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please let me know. Try out a session. Players of all experience levels are welcome at my table. I run an inclusive, LGBTQ+ friendly table where respect for everyone is mandatory. It’s good to know that apparently I’m doing something right because most of my players end up coming back for future campaigns and I’ve had many IRL tables that have run for years with the same players. And if you’d like to get a better sense of my GMing style, worldbuilding, and approach to tabletop RPGs, you can also check out my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@EvilPenguinRPG

Creating your character
We will talk about and create crawlers in a informal session 0.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
• Review the Tech Check: Ensure your webcam is functional, your lighting is clear, and your microphone is broadcast-ready (no heavy background noise or echo). We will do a tech and audio calibration 15 minutes before our first stream. • Character Concept: Think about your Crawler. Who were they on Earth right before the collapse? What ridiculous outfit or lack of pants were they caught in when the world ended? • VTT Accounts: Create a free account on Roll20 (VTT) and Discord. Ensure your Discord app is fully updated for stable video streaming.
What EvilPenguin brings to the table
About me: I work as a Director of Photography for over 15 years and for numerous TV shows and movies, some you probably have even watched. I've worked for ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, A&E, TLC, Bravo, History, Disney, Hulu, Netflix, and many others. I bring all that experience to this production and to my youtube. I currently have a small but rapidly growing audience on youtube @evilpenguinRPG. Because the show is growing, you won't be lost in a sea of thousands of voices. You get to interact directly with the fans building this community with us from day one. • Premium Broadcast Infrastructure: A fully managed live stream with professional, clean overlays, high-quality audio mixing, and customized scene transitions that make you look like a pro. • The Live "Capricious AI" System: A custom-coded or live-managed chat interaction system where the live viewing audience actively influences the game, sending you emergency Loot Boxes or dropping unexpected hazards on your head. • Immersive Audio & Visuals: Rich, thematic music playlists, custom tokens, and professionally prepped VTT maps designed to bring the claustrophobic, chaotic environment of the World Dungeon to life.
Homebrew rules
• The Galactic Chat Engine (AI Favor): Instead of standard inspiration, your character earns AI Favor based on your roleplay, explosive combat choices, and the whimsical votes of our live viewing audience. Chat can trigger "Sponsor Boxes" or chaotic environmental shifts mid-round. • Cinematic Stream Escalation: To keep the broadcast snappy and exciting, we use a collaborative turn-timer. Don't worry—as the 'Producer,' I’m there to help you make quick, epic choices so you never feel stuck in dead air. • Failing Forward in Style: Deaths in the World Dungeon are permanent and brutal, but dying on camera doesn't mean you are kicked off the show. Doomed crawlers can immediately roll up an entirely new, bizarre character or take control of an antagonistic NPC faction to torment the remaining party!

Safety
How EvilPenguin creates a safe table
• Session Zero Groundwork: Before the cameras roll, we will spend time establishing hard lines, veils, and explicit content boundaries to ensure everyone at the table feels safe, respected, and enthusiastic. • Digital Safety Tools: We utilize standard, stream-friendly digital safety triggers (such as anonymous X-Card buttons built into the VTT) to seamlessly pivot or fade-to-black if content ever approaches a player's hard boundaries. • The "Producer's Privilege": Because this is a live broadcast, the Game Master reserves the right to immediately pause the stream, call a brief commercial break, or edit audio if an unexpected safety boundary or TOS violation occurs.
