About the adventure
Providence by Night Vampire: The Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition In Providence, old blood and older grudges run deep. Founded on ideals of religious freedom and independence, Providence, Rhode Island, is a city steeped in history, tradition, and secrets. Beneath its colonial architecture, prestigious universities, historic mansions, and quiet New England streets lies another world—one ruled by immortal predators who have manipulated mortal affairs for centuries. Here, history is more than something recorded in books. Some of those who shaped it may still walk the streets after sunset. But the nights of New England have changed. The Camarilla, once the unquestioned power along much of the Eastern Seaboard, has been weakened by decades of conflict. The Sabbat's bloody campaigns have left scars across the region, while Boston has fallen under the control of an Independent alliance of Lhiannan and Gangrel. With the Camarilla struggling to maintain its remaining influence and ancient rivalries resurfacing, Providence occupies an increasingly dangerous position between competing powers. Whether its Kindred can preserve their traditions, exploit the changing political landscape, or survive the ambitions of their neighbors remains to be seen. Providence by Night is a chronicle of personal horror, political intrigue, supernatural mystery, and the struggle for power and survival. Players assume the roles of vampires navigating a society where favors carry a price, loyalty is rarely unconditional, and yesterday's allies may become tomorrow's enemies. From the elegant halls of Elysium to the forgotten corners of the city, characters will encounter ancient conspiracies, dangerous alliances, moral dilemmas, and the ever-present struggle between their fading humanity and the Beast within. This campaign uses Vampire: The Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition (V20) and takes place within an established, evolving World of Darkness shared with the long-running Ashland by Night and Mythic Savannah chronicles. While grounded in classic World of Darkness lore, this setting follows its own history, where past events have reshaped the supernatural political landscape. Expect a character-driven game emphasizing roleplaying, investigation, social maneuvering, meaningful choices, and occasional bursts of brutal violence. Both experienced players and newcomers willing to explore the darker side of storytelling are welcome. In a city built upon the promise of freedom, even the undead must ask themselves: Who truly rules the night, and what will freedom cost them?

About me
I've been running tabletop RPGs since I was 12 years old, and my favorite part of the game remains the same: nobody at the table, not even the GM, knows exactly how the story will end. What fascinates me most is watching players change a world I thought I understood. My games are character driven, cinematic, and built around meaningful choices. When you pull up a chair at my table, here is what you can expect: • A Living, Reactive World: NPCs remember your actions, enemies adapt, allies have their own motivations, and small decisions can echo months later. • Player Driven Storytelling: I prepare the situations, characters, conflicts, and possibilities. You decide what actually happens. Your successes, failures, and unexpected ideas help shape where the story goes. • Immersive Roleplay: My campaigns blend investigation, action, politics, humor, horror, and character drama. I enjoy players who invest in the setting and make decisions based on who their character is. • Everyone Gets a Moment to Shine: I currently run games for Lost Tribes Gaming on Twitch, so I am used to keeping a game moving while making room for every character and their story. If you want memorable NPCs, deep continuity, cinematic moments, and a world that genuinely reacts to your choices, you'll feel right at home at my table.

Creating your character
Players will be allowed to generate new characters using custom rules prior to our session 0. Players will have access to pregenerated characters suited for this campaign as well, if needed. Players coming into the game after the game starts will likely want to use a pregenerated character to start to ensure they are a fit for this game and to provide them extra time (if needed) to work on their own character. Links to the game genre, on-going story of the world, and what is and isn't allowed at character creation to be provided later.

What ST Jerome brings to the table
My games are built around immersive storytelling, memorable characters, player freedom, and a living world that continues to evolve whether the players are watching or not. I've spent years developing an interconnected World of Darkness where events from previous chronicles have lasting consequences, familiar faces may reappear, and actions taken in one city can ripple across the supernatural landscape. Providence by Night is another chapter in that larger world, but its players will have the opportunity to leave their own mark upon it. I believe players should drive the story, not simply follow it. I develop detailed locations, NPCs, political relationships, and ongoing storylines, but I don't expect players to follow a predetermined path. Creative solutions, unexpected alliances, personal ambitions, and even spectacular mistakes can change the course of a chronicle. NPCs have their own motivations, loyalties, and agendas, and the world reacts to what the characters do, or fail to do. My storytelling style blends political intrigue, supernatural mystery, personal horror, action, and occasional humor. I enjoy building atmospheric scenes, using visual references, developing distinctive NPC personalities, and giving players opportunities for meaningful character interaction. Some sessions may revolve around delicate negotiations or investigating an ancient mystery; others may erupt into violence, desperate escapes, or situations nobody saw coming. I believe both serious drama and lighter character moments have a place in a compelling chronicle. Mechanically, I respect the V20 rules while recognizing that no rulebook can anticipate every situation. I favor reasonable interpretations, creative problem-solving, and keeping the game moving without sacrificing meaningful consequences. Combat can be deadly, but clever thinking, preparation, and diplomacy are often just as valuable as raw power. --Above all, I value player agency and collaborative storytelling.--Character backgrounds, relationships, goals, and personal choices matter. I welcome players who enjoy developing their characters, interacting with the world, and contributing to a shared narrative. Both experienced V20 players and newcomers are welcome. You don't need encyclopedic knowledge of the World of Darkness, but you should be willing to roleplay, cooperate with fellow players, and recognize that actions have consequences. --The story doesn't belong to the Storyteller alone. I provide the world, its inhabitants, and its conflicts. What happens next is largely up to you.--
Homebrew rules
Mostly the rules are tied to the V20 system, but I have a few modifications to the world, allowable clans/bloodlines (example: the Lhiannan), and I allow for some 3rd party supplements. Additional supplements allowed (these can be found over at Storytellervault.com): Bloodcraft Mysteries of the Blood Rites of the Wild I do not allow all 3rd party supplements, currently only the 3 listed above are in use for this game.

How ST Jerome creates a safe table
Please refer to the Safety Tools section for the specific tools available during my games. I believe in maintaining an enjoyable, respectful, and comfortable gaming environment while also being mindful of everyone's time. Since players are paying to participate, I generally reserve discussions about rules, concerns, and gameplay expectations for before or after sessions rather than interrupting the flow of the game. As this is an 18+ game, I expect players to take an active role in communicating their personal boundaries, expectations, and concerns before gameplay begins. I encourage players to bring questions or concerns to me privately, preferably before or after a session, so they can be addressed thoughtfully without unnecessarily interrupting the experience for everyone else. Establishing clear expectations from the beginning helps us maintain an enjoyable, respectful, and immersive environment throughout the chronicle. Should an unexpected or particularly serious concern arise during play, players may contact me privately so it can be addressed as discreetly as possible. At the conclusion of each session, we typically hold Roleplaying (RP) Votes, giving players an opportunity to recognize one another for memorable roleplaying, creative decisions, entertaining moments, or particularly meaningful contributions to the story. These discussions also provide an opportunity to address questions about the game, clarify rules or setting details, offer feedback, and ensure everyone is enjoying the experience and getting what they want out of the game. My games are strictly non-PvP environments. While characters may have personal ambitions, differing opinions, or secrets of their own, the expectation is that players work together rather than against one another. Conflict should primarily arise from the world, its inhabitants, and the challenges the characters face—not from hostility between player characters. Content Rating: My games generally fall within the PG-13 to TV-14 range, despite being intended for adult players ages 18 and older. Although the World of Darkness naturally explores mature themes, supernatural horror, and moral ambiguity, I prefer to emphasize storytelling, atmosphere, and character development over excessive graphic or gratuitous content. Ultimately, my goal is to provide a welcoming, collaborative environment where everyone feels respected, included, and comfortable contributing to the story. I believe that clear communication, mutual respect, and a shared understanding of expectations allow us to focus on what we're all here for: telling a memorable story and having a great time doing it.
