About the adventure
In a continent under the totalitarian rule of the K'Thaar Dynasty, you'll get to decide how much of a difference you want to make for the common folk of the capital city of Ashenfell As low level members of the Thaal’Zuril Magisterium, you’re one of the few groups that have been contracted by Mg. Nassarel Khorallos to investigate recent upheaval in the western Furnaces. Several accounts of workers in Magisterium owned warehouses have reported disappearances, the workers have been reticent to go into work, and the ones that do, have rushed their work along the row of warehouses in order to finish their tasks as quickly as possible, leading to unacceptable quality of work. But most importantly, rumors have started to arise, talk of everything from the work of secret Kel’Ashtari operatives, to Aeosian spies attempting to steal resources from the Magisterium, to a coordinated stunt arranged by the workers to initiate revolts. The row of warehouses has been quarantined, your job is to investigate the cause of the disappearances, report back, and retrieve any relevant material or subjects, as well as plant the necessary evidence to blame The Abandoned for any deaths and disappearances This one shot is open to any and all players, be it experienced or brand new to ttrpgs or DnD!!

About me
Hello! I'm Miguel, I'm a 25 year old psychology student from Spain, i've also lived in Costa Rica and Venezuela for several years and studied in british schools my whole life. I'm neurodivergent myself, a musician, an artist. I've always been a fan of all things fantasy and storytelling as a whole, and had always been curious about ttrpgs, and I finally managed to get into DnD during the pandemic in 2020, I've been a DM ever since! I started out as a DM for a small group of friends with Curse of Strahd, really not the best choice for a beginner but we had fun and it taught me a lot. I eventually got to work on a homebrew world, which is where most of the games i run take place! My core philosophy when running games is that one must never lose sight that the story, ultimately, is about the characters, and so i try to make my games as fun and dramatic as possible, by centering the characters and their decisions and interactions with the world. At the end of the day i want to give my players the best, most emotional, and memorable stories they can ask for, and honor the characters they create as well as i can. So i try to tailor the experience at the table to be inclusive and satisfying at every turn, for the players and the characters This is a safe space for all minorities, and hate and harasment of any kind will not be toletared!

Creating your character
Character creation will be done before the start of the game, the following guidelines are to be followed, i will be available to aid in any and all parts of the character creation process through text or a discord call! GUIDELINES - Create a 5th level character. - Ability Scores must be generated using Point Buy or rolling 4d6 and dropping the lowest. These rolls must be done publicly in Roll20. If you choose to roll, you must stick to your rolls as long as the final numbers add up 72 or more, otherwise you can switch to point buy - For hit points you can take the average or you can roll, if you roll you must do so publicly in Roll20, and stick to the rolled amount - Multiclassing is allowed. - No rules exploits. - No min-maxing. CONTENT - Other than races, all WOTC, legacy 5e content is accepted, except for Stranger Things and Rick and Morty content. - Other than races, all Critical Role published content is allowed - Only races in the 2014 player handbook are allowed, along with Tabaxi, Aasimar, and Genasi EQUIPMENT - Pick either class equipment OR bought equipment, either is fine, just not both, use the PHB starting wealth table +50gp to buy equipment - You will be allowed to choose either 2 uncommon magic items, or 2 common and 1 uncommon CHARACTER SHEETS. You can create your characters in whatever platform you prefer, be it DnD beyond, Roll20, pen and paper, or any other means. I only ask for a copy of said sheet, as a PDF, on Roll20, or as a legible photograph if using pen and paper ROLLING All rolls must appear in Roll20, be it that you roll on the platform, or on DnD beyond and use Beyond20 OPTIONAL: If you are rolling in D&D Beyond, you can have those rolls appear in Roll20 through the Beyond20 Browser Extension, linked below. What to expect
Preparing for the session
Required: - Free Discord and Roll20 accounts (microphone required, headphones recommended, camera not required, although i will be using one!) - At least a 4 sentence paragraph backstory (but you can make it longer if you'd like!) - A copy of your character sheet - A filled consent checklist - A stable internet connection - Must be 18 or older to play

Homebrew rules
HOUSE RULES - Taking a potion is a Bonus Action, feeding a potion is an action - In order to use the Aid Another action to assist on an ability check, you must be proficient in that skill - Feats are allowed instead of Ability Score Improvements - Flanking provides a +2 bonus to an attack roll

How Miguel creates a safe table
Any intolerance, bigotry, prejudice, or harassment of any kind is unacceptable and will lead to an immediate removal A consent checklist will be filled by all players and the results will be made available anonymously to be referenced at any time (unless the player specifies otherwise in the checklist itself). The X, N, O Cards will be integrated into the Roll20. A break will be integrated at around half way through the session, and a player can call for a break, and walk away from the table at any point should they need to, i will make sure the game runs smoothly. A 30 minute period of aftercare and wind down will be had at the end of session for anyone who wants it
