About the adventure
Welcome to Daggerheart and collaborative storytelling! You will be playing a group of friends that have planned a surprise birthday party. We will start by establishing our common campaign frame: * Whose birthday are we celebrating? * How have you gotten to know this friend? * Where are we partying? * What activity has your character planned? You will create your character from a prefilled template, establishing yourself who they are, and how they relate to the party. This game will be imaginative, everything is possible from an outdoor barbecue celebrating a familiar, a fey rave to celebrate your 250 year old uncle Jeff, to any other wondrous idea you will hopefully come up with. This session consists of approx 1h campaign and character generation plus 2.5-3h of gameplay. It is perfectly suited to players new to Daggerheart or even new to TTRPGs.

About me
Welcome to my corner of startplaying, adventurer! I'm Charly, interpreter of math rocks, arbiter or the game and your prospective Gaming Mistress. I have a passion for TTRPGs and have been GM-ing for over 4 years, In that time, I’ve been running campaigns, one-shots and a few mini-campaigns. I have experience with DnD, How to be a Hero, the Dark Eye, and I adore Daggerheart as it supports collaborative story-telling very well. I'm driven towards character-driven stories, role-playing and creating unexpected problems for you to solve. At my table, your imagination (within the bounds of our established safety tools) takes the wheel. The game system provide frameworks to tell wonderful and unique stories. In my games, you will not be afraid of the rules, I enjoy teaching new game systems to players with patience, especially if this is your first experience with TTRPGs. Check out my pending games, you might be the perfect player for my table!

Creating your character
You will create your own character at the beginning of the session. You may choose a class based on a predefined list of „party archetypes“ (corresponding to different classes) during the session. You will fill out some of the options to customize your character. If you already know what class you really want to try out, include this info in the booking; we should be able to accommodate that.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Please make sure you have a reliable audio input and output. You are free to use your Video; getting some video feedback is very much appreciated by this GM. We will be using Alchemy as VTT and Discord for Audio, I will send more detailed instructions & Links after booking.
What Charly (magical-engineer) brings to the table
Since big parts of the setting will be thematically set by you, I will use a set of premade maps that best suit the situations. There will be some general ambience music. I try to differentiate characters by mannerism and tone; I would not describe that strictly as developing full character voices. This one-shot will lead you through multiple encounters to allow experiencing how Daggerheart implements different types of encounters: You will explore, overcome environmental challenges, combat, step into small social encounters and maybe get caught in a chase. For one-shots, I tend to be quite lenient with rules and want to foster imaginative collaboration.
Homebrew rules
Approach me if you want any homebrew rules included. Overall, I enjoy a good "bargained sacrifice" with my players. You want to roll max healing this time in an important battle? Yes but will your character ever be able to use this healing spell again? Or will you permanently lose some health?
