About the adventure
For centuries, people have vanished into Bastardhall. Now someone wants answers. You’ve joined an expedition to explore the infamous castle and discover what became of its missing victims. But once you reach the island, finding a way inside proves far easier than finding a way home. Bastion of Blasphemies is a gothic horror megadungeon set in Ustalav, a land of haunted ruins and uneasy superstitions. Expect dangerous battles, restless spirits, hidden passages, and a sprawling castle whose history is worth investigating. Choose where to explore, learn which inhabitants you can trust, and uncover the knowledge you need to confront the curse. Some doors are worth opening cautiously. Others might be worth coming back to when you’re stronger. This campaign puts exploration and tactical combat front and center, with plenty of room for investigation, character moments, and unusual friendships. If exploring a haunted castle, piecing together its tragedies, and helping your companions survive sounds like your kind of adventure, you’ll fit right in. Newer Pathfinder players are welcome, and I’m happy to help you get comfortable with the system. 💎 We begin at level 5 and expect to finish around level 13–14. You don’t need to have played any previous adventures. I’ll provide the player’s guide and help you create a character with a reason to join the expedition. 🧵 We’ll use the official premium Foundry VTT module, with prepared maps, atmospheric audio, illustrated characters, and tools that bring the castle to life. I also create and commission custom battlemaps, which I enjoy including when appropriate. 🦋 Your time is precious, and I’ll respect it. I make room for everyone at the table, help keep the game moving, and want you to finish each session with something you’re excited to tell your friends about.

About me
I've been hosting games for friends and professionally for years now, and love to bring the spirit of adventure to the table. I've been enjoying Pathfinder and Starfinder a lot lately, and I love seeing the party work together to overcome challenges. Expect a game that will challenge your ability to work as a team tactically, mixed in with plenty of memorable characters and emotional moments. I love: ✅ Teaching the game to new players ✅ Crafting interesting encounters that challenge the players in different ways. ✅ Introducing memorable characters - even minor actors like the merchants and messengers! ✅ Seeing the players change the story through their interesting character choices and narrative decisions. No two games are alike. ✅ Giving the players options and loot they've never seen before - something special, just for them.

Creating your character
During Session 0, we’ll go over the campaign, build our party, and establish why your characters have joined the expedition to Bastardhall. We begin at level 5 using Pathfinder’s remastered rules and standard attribute boosts. You’re welcome to create your character with us or bring a draft from Pathbuilder. Read the Bastion of Blasphemies Player’s Guide first, and check Discord for the available third-party options and character creation guidelines. We’ll finalize starting equipment and any uncommon or rare choices together. Build someone willing to investigate dangerous places and work with their companions. Your character might be a monster hunter, a scholar, a hired guard, or someone with a personal interest in the missing. We’ll find a connection that gives you a reason to care. I’m happy to help newer players, and you’ll have room to adjust your build early in the campaign as you discover what you enjoy playing.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Bring a friendly attitude, some curiosity, and a willingness to work with your party! Before Session 0: • Join our Discord server and read the campaign information. • Read the spoiler-free Bastion of Blasphemies Player’s Guide. • Bring a character idea or two. A completed sheet isn’t required. • Test your microphone and your connection to our Foundry game. You’ll need a computer, a reliable internet connection, and a working microphone. Headphones are recommended. Please use push-to-talk if background noise becomes distracting. We use Discord for voice and Foundry VTT for the game. You don’t need to purchase Foundry or the adventure; you’ll connect to my game through your browser.
What Ambitosis brings to the table
I provide the official premium Foundry VTT adventure, prepared encounters, atmospheric music and sound effects, character voices, and help with your character sheet and the rules. You’ll also have access to a living adventure journal recording the party’s discoveries, important NPCs, and memorable moments. In a castle full of secrets, it helps to have somewhere to check that name you half-remember from three sessions ago. As a GM, I care about player agency. You’ll decide which leads to follow, how to approach the castle’s inhabitants, and when to push deeper or pull back. Expect tactical fights alongside investigation, uneasy conversations, and opportunities to help people caught up in the curse. I’m a Rule of Cool GM at heart. I enjoy creative plans and will work with you to resolve them fairly within the system. I keep rulings moving, share the spotlight, and make room for humor even when the adventure gets grim.
Homebrew rules
We’ll use Free Archetype and Gradual Ability Boosts for additional character customization. I also welcome approved Team+ material and other custom character options. The available options will be posted in Discord before Session 0 so everyone can review them together. At the end of each session, we’ll use Stars and Wishes to share our favorite moments and talk about what we’d like to see next. This also gives players a chance to award Hero Points to one another for memorable contributions. One additional house rule: when Shoving or Repositioning a willing ally, improve the result by one degree of success. We’ll review these rules together during Session 0.

How Ambitosis creates a safe table
We'll spend roughly the first half of a session 0 solidifying campaign themes, make sure everyone's character fits, and we will all have a chance to lay all our expectations out on the table and verify everyone's up for what's involved in the adventure. We'll go over the prohibited themes present in all Paizo adventures (which I follow even for my homebrew games using Pathfinder rules) and give an opportunity to tack on more. I have no problem changing the content of the adventure path to better suit people's comfort levels, and this is what the lines and veils will be used for.
