About the adventure
For people that know about Drakkenheim already, choose my campaign if: - You want a GM that is harsh but fair regarding rulings and that knows the rules extremely well. - You want a GM whose philosophy is that we should create together the coolest story possible, you with your characters, interacting in my world - You want tense fights that all matter. No one wants to wade through hours of slog fests. - You love drama. This campaign is made for twists and backstabs. Dungeons of Drakkenheim is a 1-13 campaign getting you from down-on-your-luck adventures to future-of-the-planet-deciding adventurers. Untold riches and dangers can be found in the enshrouded city; some look for fame, others for traces of their loved ones; Some are looking for the throne and others just want to understand and contain the contamination coming from the city. Because yes, the city is contaminated; 15 years ago, an alien meteorite crashed in the heart of the city. Any attempt at retaking it from its mists, warped realities and flocks of monsters that have come to inhabit it (or were they always here ?) have failed. The mists are dangerous, and every excursion in the city is an adventure in itself. Of which few adventurers come back. Still, Drakkenheim is full of resources, and most importantly Delerium, concentrates of solid magic making up the meteorite. This corrupting substance has no issues finding buyers, followers or detractors. 5 factions are present in Drakkenheim. Many of them have very divergent objectives, but none of them has the resource to alone control the city. It will be your group that will decisively change the balance of power in the city. Or die trying. This adventure is a sandbox contained in Drakkenheim. The players are free to explore as they wish (* health insurance is not included), ally with whom they wish, whenever they want. But the world will not stay indifferent.

About me
Hello there ! I've been Dming a few DnD campaigns on foundry for friends and such, but I'm now looking for more players! I usually DM DnD5e, and I have mastered campaigns both in my homebrew universe (Paris 2024 - Modern Fantasy, quite inspired by Unsleeping City and Dresden Files) and in the Drakkenheim setting. My DM style is RP heavy and I try to ensure your character concepts can come to life in interesting ways that satisfy everyone at the table. Don't hesitate to hit me up for more information ! Start

Creating your character
There will first be a session 0 to ensure the group's objectives and initial dynamic is figured out. That session 0 will be $10 only. During the session, players can create their level 1 character. All is on Foundry. Standard Array or point buy, custom origin feats are ok. All DND 2024 content is available. 2014 content will be discussed. Specific Drakkenheim content is off the table at creation but can sometimes be obtained later.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Discord will be used. Ensure you have a computer and a stable internet connection. Don't spoil yourself on the campaign, the twists are worth it.
What Start brings to the table
I have run this specific Drakkenheim campaign twice already. Both times have resulted in great moments, and I have a clear vision of how to RP the different actors of this universe. All the scenes are created and ready on foundry. Every token, npc, monster and decor are ready. There will be ambient music. Regarding RP, I don't do voices that much, only when I believe it really adds something to the character. However, every character will have their motivation, ambition, etc. Regarding fights, I believe there are now enough tools to make good, balanced fights, especially since Drakkenheim is designed to work with attrition (can't rest in the city). Now, some of my players might say I'm cruel, but I merely create situations where taking risks is enticing. Playing carefully is always a possibility. Since I believe RP and character stories to be fundamental, I don't enjoy killing PCs. But sometimes it's warranted.
Homebrew rules
I don't have many, but I'm opened to suggestion, especially if a particular character fantasy is depending on it. I've used tons of homebrews in other campaigns, I know how to gauge, I just don't particularly think DND 5.5e needs much. I have however been nicer to players lagging behind the rest of the group, when needed (with for example additional sneak attack dice for a rogue at level 5, 11, 17 in my latest campaign).

How Start creates a safe table
Session 0 will discuss the obvious. For the players that don't want to share their difficulties there, I usually let them contact me directly by pm and take it into account. My games are usually opened to all crowds, however this campaign is still of a horrific nature; If horror in general, but in particular cosmic horror and body horror don't mesh with you, don't come. Likewise, it's a violent world. There will be no sex-related violence, but the rest is on the table. I'll work with triggers as long as it fits, or you'll be aware well before it comes up in game.
