About the adventure
🏳️🌈 LGBTQIA+ Friendly! 🌱 New Player Friendly! 🐣 Introduction Adventure Near a sleepy town at the edge of Ustalav, a nation heavily inspired by the aesthetics of gothic-horror stories, where werewolves roam the forests and ancient vampires rule from their ancient castles, lies a temple holding a long-forgotten secret. But that is by no means the only secret that troubles this town. And it is only the beginning of an even greater adventure! Because your heroics draw the attention of a lone scion of a cursed family, and she's planning an expedition to Bastardhall itself! 🏰 Campaign Overview Bastardhall. The Bastion of Blasphemies! That's what the locals have come to call the ruins of a long-abandoned fortress. But every century the castle mysteriously returns to the realm of the living, fully restored in its original glory. Each time it sends out a black coach with its headless driver, to scour the countryside for its next targets. Those that accept the invitation are taken to Bastardhall, never to be seen again. Those that refuse meet a tragic and bloody end a week later, when the coach returns. A young girl and her parents were visited during its last emergence about a decade ago. While the parents were killed, the child survived and has grown up to be a young woman, seeking answers. Spending what remains of her family's fortune, she's hiring experienced adventurers to accompany her as she travels to Bastardhall itself! This fun Castlevania-inspired campaign takes the players on an adventure deep into a truly bizarre Mega-Dungeon - one that will span all the way from level 1 to level 14! To finally break the Curse of Bastardhall and bring peace to its victims, you will have to investigate strange mysteries, solve puzzles and face terrifying monstrosities in battle, that could have jumped straight out of a Mary Shelley novel! 🎲 Premium Foundry VTT Module We'll be using the premium Foundry VTT Module made specifically for this Adventure Path, providing us with professionally made high quality maps, atmospheric music, sounds and artwork, as well as tools tailored to make this a unique experience! 🌱 New Player Friendly! Getting into a new system can be daunting, but fear not! I have experience introducing new players to Pathfinder and will gladly help you create your character, so it is exactly what you imagine. Meanwhile Foundry VTT, the virtual table-top we're using takes care of most of the tedious math that goes on behind the scenes, so you can focus on playing and having fun. Not to mention the introduction adventures "Secrets of the Unlit Star" and "Trouble in Grayce" are part of the official Beginner Box and designed as a prelude to "Bastion of Blasphemies" itself. They'll guide you into the game carefully, teaching you while you play, as well as getting you ready to face the dangers of Bastardhall.

About me
Hello! I'm Florian, a Game Master based in Germany. I discovered tabletop RPGs a little later than most - around the age of 30 - but for the past 15 years, they've been a huge part of my life. Whether I'm behind the screen or rolling dice as a player, I love diving into new systems and crafting memorable stories. I got my start with Pathfinder right when 1st Edition launched, and I've been hooked ever since. While I never really played much D&D, Pathfinder 2e has become my favorite system to run these days. I also have experience running Vampire: The Masquerade and Shadowrun, and I've dabbled in many other games as a player. What I love the most about TTRPGs is the collaborative nature of it, where we all tell a story together.

Creating your character
We will create the characters together in the Session 0. Don't worry, despite everything you heard it's a fairly easy process and I will guide you through it. You may have heard horror stories about how difficult Pathfinder 2e is, but its actually very straight-forward and its very hard to screw up. The game starts at level 1 and you will reach level 5 by the end.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
🎤 A working microphone 🌐 A stable internet connection and an internet browser (like Edge or Chrome) 💬 A free Discord account (I can help set one up if needed) 🎧 (Optional) Headphones are highly recommended to avoid any echo. If you're using speakers, you'll need to set up "Push to talk" (we can do that together) 📷 (Optional) A webcam. I'll use one, as it helps me communicate, but no pressure.
What Florian the GM brings to the table
I'll provide access to the Foundry VTT and Discord Server that's being used for the game. The Foundry VTT handles the math and bookkeeping automatically, so you can focus on the roleplay and immerse yourself in the world. I'll provide music for ambiance.
Homebrew rules
We'll be using the "Free Archetype" variant rule from the Core Rulebook, which gives players more options without limiting their growth in their main class. We'll also be employing the "Gradual Ability Boost" variant rule, allowing you to earn a new Attribute boost at every level, smoothing out the progression curve a little. Other house rules can be discussed in Session 0 or at any point during the game.

Safety
How Florian the GM creates a safe table
We will start the campaign with a Session 0. Those unfamiliar with the term, that is where we’ll go over expectations that everyone has for the game as well as the safety tools that are being used. Afterwards we’ll work together on forming a coherent party and create your characters. Despite the overall theme of the game (dark, horror) it is important to me that all players feel comfortable, and no limits are crossed. As such, Lines and Veils will be handled via the Monte Cook RPG Consent Sheet, which covers many "common" limits already and allows everyone to add their own as well. During gameplay you can always indicate with the X-Card that you're not comfortable with a certain topic and it will be avoided, no questions asked. This is handled through a Foundry VTT module. Don't be shy to use it if needed. After the game everyone can share their thoughts on the game, as well as post them in the Stars and Wishes channel on Discord.
