About the adventure

Most edgerunners burn bright and die broke, chasing the next gig until the next gig kills them. You and your chooms decided to try something different: pick one forgotten corner of Night City and make it less of a damn dumpster. You'll run jobs, build influence, and defend your turf like any crew in NC -- but you've got your own kind of victories. Klep a water filter out of a military base. Smuggle tools and antibiotics through a crooked Trauma Team outfit. Teach the local gonks to protect the streets instead of terrorizing them. Scavenge what you need, bargain for what you can't steal, and decide how much of your soul you're willing to sell when doing the right thing gets expensive. Because Night City doesn't want to be saved. Gangs see your block as a preem all-you-can-eat buffet. Corpos see excess purchasing power to exploit. The NCPD is losing clients when kids can walk home from school without a security detail. Every improvement gives you something new to protect -- and gives somebody else a reason to come take it. Maybe you can't fix Night City. Maybe nothing good here lasts. But somebody has got to keep the lights on.

About me

I specialize in modern and futuristic settings -- often cynical, dog-eat-dog worlds with oppressive institutions. But, while the occasional 'cash is king' mercenary story is fun, my most memorable campaigns are made by players who refuse to be another cog in the system. Together with you, I want to create stories about rage against the machine, compassion when it is least expected, and putting everything on the line to make a change. 'Think you got what it takes, kid? Let's get fixing.' I've been GMing for over a decade, and every session my players continue to surprise me with their ingenuity (or sometimes lack thereof :P). I run a variety of rulesets, primarily as long-form, character-driven campaigns; for the rare pre-written campaign that I do run, I always ensure to include some extra twists and PC connections. ๐Ÿต๏ธ I am always open to developing a new campaign in modern, post-apoc, or futuristic settings. I also have a flexible schedule, and can comfortably cover US, EU, and APAC timezones. If you're looking for a unique experience, let's talk! ๐Ÿต๏ธ

Character creation

Creating your character

All materials needed for the game will be provided in the campaign discord. Characters will be built using the standard life pathway generation, and you can either choose between recommended attribute and skill layouts, or customize them from scratch to your liking. On request, I will also walk individual players through the character creation & general overview of the rules outside of scheduled session time, at no additional cost. We'll finalize everyone's sheets and connections, as well as go over other important information such as campaign themes and everyone's safety preferences during session 0.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

๐Ÿ’ฌ A Discord account is required for sessions and between-session comms. ๐ŸŽฒ Hosted on Foundry VTT; no purchase or registration needed for players. ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ A dedicated microphone is highly recommended. ๐Ÿ“ท Cameras are optional, but not required. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ Previous knowledge of Cyberpunk RED is entirely not necessary, just bring a positive attitude and a desire to engage with the setting and the characters!

What Fixer Victor brings to the table

This is an open-ended, player-directed campaign beginning in the slums of Night City... and staying there, with hopes of making those slums just a little better. Just like any Cyberpunk game, expect plenty of high-octane heists, explosive firefights, and conspiracies to uncover. But there will also be light base-building and resource-management elements, handled mostly through Discord between sessions. Those will help guide the direction of the campaign and create new objectives beyond eddies and gear for yourself. Each session will feature atmospheric backdrop visuals and music, with key encounters played out on purpose-built battlemaps. More importantly, you'll see the neighborhood itself develop from session to session as your choices start leaving visible marks on the world. There will also be an ever-growing cast of residents, allies, rivals, fixers, gangers, and local weirdos. As you make a name for yourselves, you'll earn the trust of some -- and the ire of others. And remember: Night City doesn't take kindly to people who refuse to play by its ruthless rules. The good choices aren't always the easy ones, and no good deed goes unpunished here. Expect dangerous complications, murky compromises, and deals that leave a sour taste in your mouth. But if you persevere long enough... maybe you really can make a difference.

Homebrew rules

I stick reasonably close to Rules as Written, however I try to make sure rolls are only called for when the outcome would actually be interesting, and trivial tasks should not require skill checks. Rule of Cool is also liberally employed, and we'll sometimes simplify (or complicate) certain things for the sake of convenience and narrative. Perhaps most importantly, character progression is heavily tied to the story. You will have downtime opportunities to develop skills and contacts; and special gear or high grade cyberware may be found through gameplay objectives rather than simply purchased with eddies. I will continuously collect your feedback on any rule changes and general feedback on the game, and adjust accordingly.

Safety

How Fixer Victor creates a safe table

All of my tables are a welcoming, inclusive space for players from all walks of life, and I have zero tolerance for bigotry or -isms of any kind. Beyond playing a game together, I hope to help folks build real, lasting friendships. It is always completely okay to call for a break, pause the game, or step away for a time. Your real-life well-being always comes first. We will establish Lines & Veils together. Those can be clarified and updated as campaign progresses. X-Card: An anonymized X-card is available at all times through the VTT during play to fade to black or skip uncomfortable moments without need for explanation. Each session will end with a quick debrief. We'll use Stars and Wishes approach to discuss what works and what we want to see more of, and check in on how everyone is feeling. There's also always time to unwind and banter if desired.
