About the adventure

You grew up hearing stories about the heroes who saved Sandpoint. Maybe one raised you. Maybe one taught you everything you know. Now something is stirring beneath the ancient ruins of Rusthenge, and the next chapter belongs to you. This is a complete level 1–20 Pathfinder 2e campaign: a journey from a quiet coastal village to the kind of world-shaking adventure people will tell stories about for generations. We'll begin at level 1 with Rusthenge, a prologue that lets you learn Pathfinder while getting to know your character and your companions. At level 4, we'll move into Seven Dooms for Sandpoint: make friends and enemies in one of Pathfinder's most beloved towns, investigate its secrets, and brave the dangerous dungeons beneath its hinterlands. Then, at level 12, Revenge of the Runelords takes the story into mythic territory, where ancient wizard-kings threaten far more than one small town. These adventures form one continuing campaign, with your party's relationships, choices, and hard-won reputation coming along for the ride. I am a storyteller, and we're going to make this story our own. Expect NPCs with distinct voices, motives, and grudges; mysteries worth investigating; factions you can befriend or antagonize; and challenging tactical battles where teamwork and clever plans matter. Your character's background gives me people, places, and promises to weave into the adventure. You'll have reasons to care about what you're saving—and room to surprise me with how you do it. We play on Foundry VTT with detailed maps, atmospheric music and sound, and automation that helps keep the game moving, using Discord for voice and between-session conversation. Brand-new players, D&D players curious about Pathfinder, and longtime PF2e veterans are all welcome. I'll help with character creation and teach the rules as we use them; nobody needs to arrive knowing how to play a level 20 mythic hero. You'll grow into that. Veterans get a long campaign with room for character development, satisfying tactics, and plenty of ancient Thassilonian lore. No previous Runelords campaign knowledge is required. Bring a character who wants to adventure with the party, and let's find out what kind of legends you become.

About me

Hey there! I'm Gamersaurus Lex, a longtime player and GM who owned a local game store for about a decade. I am a happy-go-lucky extrovert that spent the last decade of his life running a FLGS and professionally nerding out with gamers of every age and disposition. I love running games with lots of excitement, fully realized NPCs, and a true open sandbox approach, even when we're running an established module. You want to ignore the module's storyline and chart your own course? I will make it happen! Prefer to play in one of my homebrew campaigns set in the Moonsea Region of the Forgotten Realms? Buckle up, you're in for a wild ride! I have decades of experience introducing new players to the hobby, at my game store, conventions, and at my home table, so you couldn't be in better hands if you're just starting out with TTRPGs or if you're switching systems. I have been a pro GM for about 20 years, and only recently started offering my services online with StartPlaying. Veterans will enjoy my games, too, especially with all the Easter eggs that pop up in every session. I tend to run D&D 5e, Pathfinder 2e, and Starfinder these days, but I have plenty of recent experience with 3.x, Savage Worlds, GURPS, and the many varieties of the Cypher System. And, let's be honest, given time to prepare, I can run any system if there is a group that really wants that system.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters begin at level 1, using Pathfinder 2e's Remastered rules and standard attribute boosts—no rolled statistics. I'll help you build and review your character before play, with Discord available for questions and Session 0 for connecting the party and getting everyone comfortable with the game. Our story begins in Osprey Cove. Your character has a personal connection to one of the heroes who once saved Sandpoint: family, a mentor, a longtime friend, or another relationship we develop together. You do not need to know the old adventures or their lore. I'll provide the campaign Player's Guide and help you create a connection that makes sense for your character. Bring a character who has a reason to answer the call to adventure and work with the party. A fully planned build is welcome, but a cool idea is plenty to start with. Pathbuilder and Foundry VTT are recommended for character building; I'll help translate your concept into a working Foundry sheet. Character options will be reviewed against the campaign guide, with uncommon and rare options requiring approval. We begin with ordinary level 1 adventurers. Mythic rules and destinies enter the campaign later, as we approach Revenge of the Runelords. We'll handle those choices together when the time comes.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Before your first session: 1. Join my Discord server using the invitation supplied after booking. Campaign resources, announcements, character discussion, and game links will be there. 2. Have a computer, a stable internet connection, and a clear microphone. Headphones are strongly recommended. Install the Discord desktop app and test your audio. 3. Create a free account at ForgeVTT.com. We'll use Foundry VTT through your desktop browser; Chrome works well. You do not need to buy Foundry or install it on your computer. I'll provide the campaign invitation and help you get connected. 4. Read the opening campaign information and character guidance I provide. Bring a level 1 character concept, or ask me for help finding one. Please avoid reading the adventures themselves so you can enjoy discovering their secrets at the table. 5. Message me privately about accessibility needs, topics you want excluded, or anything you need to feel comfortable playing. You don't need to memorize Pathfinder's rules or buy rulebooks. I'll point you toward free rules references and beginner resources, and we'll learn through play. Arrive a few minutes early so we can sort out any audio or character-sheet issues.

What Gamersaurus Lex brings to the table

I provide an immersive Foundry VTT game with detailed maps, lighting, tokens, handouts, atmospheric music, sound effects, and automation that keeps play moving. You'll also have Discord channels for campaign discussion, reference materials, and between-session conversation, along with character-building help and guidance on free Pathfinder rules resources. My NPCs have personalities, voices, habits, loyalties, and things they want. Get to know them. A friend in the right place—or a question nobody else thought to ask—can be worth more than another sword. Investigation, exploration, social encounters, and character relationships all have a place alongside challenging tactical combat. I customize adventures around the people at my table. Give me something your character cares about, and I'll look for ways to make it matter. Unexpected plans are welcome, and you can describe what your character does without putting on a voice or performing a monologue. There is room here for enthusiastic roleplayers, tactical thinkers, curious explorers, and quieter players who enjoy being part of the story. I generally follow the rules as written so you can trust how your character works. I also embrace creative ideas and the Rule of Cool when they make the scene better without undermining another player's abilities. Enemies can be dangerous, and character death is possible. I'm rooting for the party, but your victories will be earned. New to PF2e or Foundry? I'll help you get comfortable with both. The campaign starts small and grows in complexity alongside your characters.

Homebrew rules

I use a few player-friendly house rules: - Generous Aid: Helping another character is encouraged, with more accessible Aid rulings and no downside for a critical failure. - Bestiary Tracking: Successful Recall Knowledge checks are remembered. When you encounter the same creature—or a closely related creature—you retain relevant discoveries from previous encounters. - Hero Points: During the non-mythic portion of the campaign, everyone receives a Hero Point at the beginning of the session and after the mid-session break. The previous session's player-voted MVP begins with an additional Hero Point. - Between-Session Fiction: Players who contribute campaign fiction to Discord receive a bonus die, usually a d6, to add to one roll during the following session. This is completely optional; I don't assign homework. - Fortune Effects: Hero Points and bonus dice count as Fortune effects, so they generally cannot modify the same roll or stack with another Fortune effect. We'll review the mythic rules and any adjustments to these table rules before the campaign's mythic phase begins.

Safety

How Gamersaurus Lex creates a safe table

This is heroic fantasy with dark material: sinister cults, supernatural illness, disturbing transformations, murder, undead, and threats to people the party cares about. We will discuss the campaign's tone and your Lines and Veils during Session 0. Lines exclude a topic; Veils keep it off-screen or limit its description. Nobody needs to explain or justify a boundary. Players can pause, redirect, or leave a scene at any time, with no explanation required. My Open Door policy applies throughout the campaign. We'll take breaks, check in after difficult scenes, and finish sessions with a brief debrief. You're always welcome to contact me privately, and boundaries can change as we play. Respectful communication and cooperation are expected. Any romantic storyline between player characters requires the other player's agreement beforehand; explicit sexual content stays off-screen. The goal is an exciting adventure that everyone can enjoy together.
