About the adventure

Those who live in the city of Silverymoon are familiar with trolls. Not from bed-time stories to thrill and frighten children but from the crashes and bangs on the gates, and the ashen-fear stricken on the faces of the local farmers seeking shelter inside the walls. Living so close to the seemingly endless bogs and marshes of the Evermoors provides great potential to view these ferocious monsters. So much so that many colloquially refer to the Evermoors as the Trollmoors. Spring is the season of trolls. The spring-rains bring them courage and protection from the tool of their destruction—fire! The wetter the weather the greater the threat. This spring has started wet but the trolls are yet to be seen. Rumours fly through the city as to the cause of the missing monsters but recruitment for independent adventurers and mercenaries is on the rise, and the pay is good! Hunting is in the future of this season of trolls. What to Expect - narrative 🔥 training in an established city (lvls 2-4) 🙋‍♀️ optional factions to support ⚔ freedom to choose your path in how to help 🏰 a thriving city and people you strive to protect 🦜 bad voice-acting What to Expect - infrastructure 🌏 scenic and tactical maps 🎶 theme based music playlists 💻 a competence with foundry vtt allowing players of any experience.

About me

I love telling stories! Offering my ideas within a shared-story setting is an absolute joy, followed closely by recklessly rock climbing and using alliteration.

What Nathan brings to the table

Sound: I run a diverse catalogue of music, with sound effects for obvious environmental effects like waterfalls, doors, lightning. Visuals: I will always prepare visual aids for the players. From tactical battlemaps in combat to scenic views of the city as well as the stuffy rooms of a local vendor, it is my goal to add visuals not only for beauty and immersion but so the interpretation of an idea is closer aligned between everyone involved. Playstyle: I love using NPCs for the long-haul. If you encounter an NPC that you like or dislike, expect them to be around for awhile. - I am not a proficient voice actor! I will adjust the speed at which NPCs speak and their diction, but speaking with accents is not a skill I possess. To make NPCs more distinct I will general describe body language or attitude while they speak. - I like tactical combat and use gridded maps for that purpose. - The Rule of Cool is great as long as it is not used with the intention of rule breaking. Quirks: I love the threat and intended speed of combat. I frown on tactical planning after initiative is rolled. Exclamations of intent or asking dichotomous questions are encouraged, but detailed multi-round plans are something for before combat.

Safety

How Nathan creates a safe table

Session 0 - primarily this will outline any safety requirements, but will also detail my intention in tone and style. Detailing how characters wil level and how they can acquire items will be addressed. The fundamentals of Foundry VTT will be discussed as well as my understanding of players proficiency with the VTT. Any remaining time in the 'session 0' will address the world the players inhabit and their place within it. Stars and Wishes - Alternating with 'Debriefing' This feature will start on session 2 and every following forth session. I will lead with 'stars' for each of my players on session 2. I will slot 10 minutes at the specified session for this feature and evaluate the time requirement with player feedback. Debriefing - Alternating with 'Stars and Wishes' this feature will be a less formal version of 'Stars and Wishes'. This feature will start on session 4, and every forth session.
