About the adventure
Welcome to the Shadow Realm! In Tales from the Shadows, you'll explore mysterious forests, forgotten ruins, and strange places filled with magic and secrets. I love running games that focus on storytelling, roleplay, and giving players the chance to shape the world around them. This adventure has a great mix of exploration, puzzles, social encounters, and exciting combat, so there is something for every type of player. Whether you're new to D&D or a longtime adventurer, my goal is to create a welcoming table where everyone feels comfortable jumping into the story. Creating your character
During Session 0, we'll create characters at Level 1 using Point Buy or Standard Array. Any material from The Book of Ebon Tides is available, and we can also work together to reflavor official WoTC options to better fit the Shadow Realm setting. As part of creating your character, we will also consider the campaign's book: what happened that caused your character to become lost in the forest? Your answer will help shape your character's connection to the story and the adventure ahead.

What Livi Rose brings to the table
I host a server for our game with Foundry through the Forge, so you'll have a steady and reliable connection. I pride myself on ensuring the NPCs are fleshed out and that they are a joy to interact with (even ones players love to hate!). I also use Syrinscape for the perfect ambient music during sessions. You can use my library of Kobold Press and other homebrew books to build your character or import a sheet directly from DnD Beyond (I am happy to assist you if needed). I tend to bend the rules in favor of the players or a great story, so Rule of Cool has been my best friend in my decade of running games. I can't wait to play with you!

How Livi Rose creates a safe table
I will send the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist to players before the session and discuss it with them. Players can message me anytime before or during the game; I have a completely open door. X, N, and O can be sent to me as single characters in a Discord DM at any time— players never need to elaborate on their reasoning if they do not wish to or can follow up with me later. Their comfort is always paramount. During intense moments, I always step back to check in on players. If a character is feeling a strong emotion (be it anger, sadness, etc.), it's essential to ensure no one is in pain. We're here to roleplay these feelings but not hurt ourselves! After sessions, I also ask for Stars and Wishes as a form of affirmation Aftercare.
