About the adventure

The heat of high summer is ending in the tiny village of Kilandri. The villagers celebrate the bountiful harvest with wine and giant pies, dancing with ribbons, and singing songs loudly and gayly. But you are not a human of Kilandri. You, player, are but a tiny critter among these giants. You and the other creatures of Kilandri have your own festival every year to celebrate the end of summer. Feast and all! You and a small group of daring squirrels, racoons, rats, opossums, and a fox will venture for the star of the show, Parsley's Pie Parcels. A small cart that serves up quail egg tarts, squash quiche slices, and beautiful plum pockets dipped in berry jam. You will encounter fearsome feline foes, doors too big to open, and the ever present threat of the Festival Fellows stomping you with their brooms! Get the pies safely, make it back to the the forest meadow, and celebrate the bounty of the end of summer with all of your critter friends.

About me

I've been exploring the world of ttrpgs and role playing games for 8 years. I started out as a clueless bard in traditional D&D 5e, expanded into one shot adventures I would GM with my closest friends, and now find the most joy and creative expression as a GM in Indie rpg world. Some of my favorites are Thirsty Sword Lesbians, Badge Quest, and Teatime Adventures. I love the cooperative storytelling nature of ttrpgs. As a GM I have the most fun when my players are vulnerable, silly, and go against the status quo. When we are all laughing and/or feeling deeply, I see the true magic of these games come alive. My tables are always a safe place for POC, lgbtq+, people who are differently bodied, neurodivergent folks, and folks who are disabled. No one is perfect, but I take this very seriously and do not tolerate breaches of this safety. I have three cats, am a Trekkie, make a lot of art, and hug trees. My games are about building community and creativity through the tabletop experience. I can't wait to game with you!

Character creation

Creating your character

Come prepared with an idea of a fun and funky forest creature character who has one or two unique skills or talents that may set them apart. I like character aesthetic boards, media tropes, and playlists to give me an idea of your character's wants, needs, and flaws. Before gameplay we will have a short Session 0 to build the cast and go over rules and how the game works.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a Discord account, and five D6 dice. The server also has a dice rolling feature if you want that flexibility. Bring a pencil/pen and paper as well. You will be added to the server after signing up for the game. Basic rules and source material will be available on the server.

What Emberlee Ash brings to the table

My games are about character expression. I lean heavily on role playing and encourage pcs to interact and form relationships of all kinds within group and with NPCs. I love featuring stories that are messy, magical, and embrace the beauty of what the world could be if we let wonder take hold. My games are low on combat and I tend to favor players working out conflict with negotiation and good communication. That does not means it won't come to fist a cuffs during game, but that is not the point of my games. Rules are guidelines here as well, and I am willing to bend them for a good plot and/or with proper explanation. I do bring in character voices but it is not my strong suit. In fact, my tables sometimes get a good laugh at my attempts. I do enjoy deep description of characters, settings, and objects in the worlds we visit. I even bring in my own artwork for the games! I prefer to have my camera on while playing for ease of understanding of my players, and would prefer they have their cameras on too. This is flexible though, and I also have sympathy for those that struggle to be on camera. Let me know if you have any concerns or accommodations that need to be met.

Safety

How Emberlee Ash creates a safe table

My table is a safe and courageous space for players. We will use a Lines and Veils document, sent out before Session 0 and edited whenever needed throughout the campaign. The sheet will be transposed into our Discord server as well, for ease of access during games. Within Discord and in game, I encourage open communication. You can reach out whenever needed for yours or someone else’s safety. During the game, I am comfortable being approached with problems or concerns, and open to honest feedback and accountability. I am not perfect, and always learning. The Discord will also feature a Stars and Wishes channel where, at the end of each game, we will share desires, things we enjoyed about the games, and moments that really stuck out to us. This will also be discussed in Session 0 to aid me in planning for a game you all enjoy. Any questions can be brought to me on Discord or on Start Playing.
