About the adventure
(Session 0 free! Find out if the game is to your taste before you commit to paying!) This is a high level campaign in which characters will start off powerful and get extremely powerful by the end. This is a trek through all of the Nine Hells as described in the Forgotten Realms mythos, however characters of all background are welcome! All layers of the Hells will be featured as full, explorable maps full of places to see and experience. Bring your sense of adventure and desire to explore a setting very often spoken only in hushed tones within the material plane! You can expect an adventure with dangerous combat, tense negotiations, and themes of corruption and power. This is a published module for charity that *technically* is an official 5th edition module. Please come with an idea for a character that is in need of saving a soul from the Hells - either their own, or of someone they care about! Delving into the Nine Hells to reclaim it is a very drastic action due to the present danger of the realm, so consider that when making your character's backstory!

About me
Hello! I have always loved all kinds of games, but got into TTRPGS right before COVID. Since then, I have been on both sides of the table for those 6 years. Nothing is more fun to me than playing out a story, seeing how characters interact, and letting the dice introduce unique twists that even I don't expect.

Creating your character
Make 11th level characters in the Dungeons and Dragons system with the following equipment: Starting Equipment for your background/class, 7,500 gp, and 2 magic items (1 Very Rare and 1 Uncommon or 2 Rare). The magic items are subject to my approval. You should know as part of their backstory who sold their soul to the devils of the Nine Hells, either your character or someone they care about. Create characters using the 5e 2024 (or 5.5e on DnDBeyond) rules! Legacy subclasses from 2014 that have not been adapted to the 2024 edition are more than welcome. In the case of homebrew, I am open but require to approve any and all of it prior to it being added onto your created character for this campaign. Characters will be created for use on Roll20. This means that you either need to use their character sheet, or use the Beyond20 extension to utilize DnDBeyond character sheets in the game (I am happy to provide a tutorial on doing this, if there is interest). If you would like to keep a copy of the character sheet elsewhere, such as in a physical copy, please feel free to do so.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a Discord and Roll20 account in order to access the game and the server where we will play. You will also need a working microphone so that you can participate in voice chat during the game and speak to myself and the other players.
What Rhett - Storyteller brings to the table
This game will have full maps, both ones in the module itself and supplemental ones I have acquired. I also have curated music to ensure that the mood is always right! I use Kenku bot in my Discord Servers to play this music right in the voice call itself! During combat, we will use combat maps and exact movement in most cases. Theatre-of-the-mind might be used for random encounters or close-quarter combat encounters. Death is always a possibility for characters, but never my goal. I like to stick to rules when it is fun, and bend them when it isn't. Ultimately, that is what the game rules are for!
Homebrew rules
My main homebrew rule is that drinking a potion yourself is a bonus action - however administering it is still a full action. Some rules - such as rules for stealth - I continue to use the D&D 2014 rules.

How Rhett - Storyteller creates a safe table
I will always be upfront about content warnings that I expect to be potentially triggering during a campaign. Some of the content can be subverted or veiled, while others are baked in more explicitly to the module. If you are interested in the game but have concerns, please contact me! I am happy to work with you to see if we can make it a good fit for you. I also ask all players to complete the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist and a small Lines and Veils survey (Both of which I will provide). I will provide breaks during game at informal periods to split up the game and allow for bio breaks as well as decompression. I will also have the X,N, and O cards available in the Roll20 program for use at any time. After a session, I always welcome feedback through a Stars and Wishes system. If there are any emotions that have bled out of game, I also want to hear about it so we can discuss how to assist! Ultimately, I want everyone to have a great time no matter what, to the best of my ability.
