About the adventure
A hardy ex-pirate turned shipping magnate has a problem: the fishing village of Kennmouth would make a perfect port, if it weren't cursed. Nobody has lived there in fifty years. Nobody who goes to look around tends to come back. She wants that changed, and she is paying well for adventurers bold enough to try. A fat purse, the backing of local powers, and the right to keep whatever treasure you can carry out of the place. The reward is real. The question is whether you live to spend it. Kennmouth sits at the edge of the world, past salt marsh and windswept moor, wrapped in fog that rolls in off the sea. Roofless houses lean over a rotting harbor. Strange lights flicker on the cliffs. By day the ruins are eerie and quiet. By night, the dead have other ideas. This is a curse of undeath, and it does not sleep when you do. This is a spooky, atmospheric Gothic horror adventure, made for the fall season. Think creaking timbers, ghost ships, distant lanterns in the dark, a chapel on the cliffs that you can feel watching you, and the sound of dragging limbs that were once burried. You will gather rumors from wary townsfolk, explore a haunted ruin, wander misty marshes, and uncover why a whole village was abandoned. Expect mystery, investigation, tense escapes, and a few nasty surprises. Bring a warm drink and a healthy fear of the dark. Who it's for: players who love atmosphere, mystery, and creative solutions over pure combat. Some D&D experience helps, but newer players are welcome and I will guide you through it. Designed for level 3 characters. How I run: I run a player-focused table. Tell me what kind of character you want to play and I will help you build it into the story. Before we start I send out a session zero packet with boundary forms, and we talk through house rules together so everyone knows what to expect.

Creating your character
Use standard point buy; use either 2014 or 2024 rules, but don't interchange them. Submit your character ideas/sheets. I'll approve them or help you build your character. We'll do a brief session 0 in our first session, and you'll have that game to play things out before finalizing your character before session 2 of this mini-campaign
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should have or create a Roll20 and Discord account.
What Briar - Dungeon Matron brings to the table
I embrace this game as a storytelling medium. Let's use the rules as a guide to tell our story and not let them get in the way of it. I'll provide immersive scenes and prompts, and you'll engage with them. I like to embrace the rule of cool and keep DnD combat engaging with fast-paced combat. I can be spontaneous with rules, and my say is final, but I'm open to player input. Just know I have you and your character's best interest at heart.
