About the adventure
YOUR FIRST TWO SESSIONS ARE FREE! Having lived under the rule of Hell and your patron nation, Cheliax, rebellion has stewed and simmered in the hearts of your people. Isger as a nation has been under Cheliax's heel for far too long and the discontent has reached its breaking point. Mustering and gathering arms, the people of Isger rose up and fought against Cheliax in The Battle of Hellknight Hill. With the aid of Andoran's own Eagle Knights, the people of Isger were victorious against the forces of Hell, gaining some measure of independence from Cheliax. Seizing the momentum from their victory, the people of Isger formed the Hellbreakers League to continue the fight against their oppressors. You stand before the main hall of the league with your own reasons to fight against Cheliax. The only questions that remain are why you fight against tyranny, and will you and your companions be successful against the forces of Hell itself?

About me
Aloha! I'm Mark and I love to run games of Dungeons and Dragons 5E and Pathfinder 2E for my players! My style as a DM is more on the RP heavy side. I emphasize making the player a part of the process and crafting a meaningful experience for both the character and the player. In my games, the core story isn't the only focus, but also how your characters live within that story and navigate through both the joyous occasions and mournful moments. I also create my own maps and enjoy making them for games, especially my Homebrew world. I find a lot of joy in creating detailed maps for my players to see and play in. Please contact me if you have any questions! Mahalo!

Creating your character
Characters will have access to Ancestry Paragon feats, Gradual Ability Boosts, and Free Archetype at level 2. At the beginning of the campaign, all characters will start at level 1, but new players joining afterward will create characters at the level the current group members are.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need an account for Discord for voice chat, an account to The Forge to access the Foundry VTT server, and access to the player's handbook and the Kingmaker players guide, which I can provide.
What Mark brings to the table
I'm a roleplay-focused DM, so players looking to join should expect lots of roleplay opportunities during games. I also ensure that combat encounters are engaging, thus I try to be as creative as possible given the enemies. Expect enemies to not just attack, but also attempt to disarm, trip, demoralize, and grapple as some examples of what they may try to do. You may even find that some enemies destroy walls to open up the battlefield to get to you easier. I prefer sticking to Rules as Written (RAW), but I can embrace Rule of Cool (ROC) when players truly do something creative and unexpected. Other than that, I voice act all the NPCs and enemies you come across, provide music to set the mood during the session, and provide a copy of the Player's Core handbook and the Kingmaker adventure player's guide.
Homebrew rules
The few homebrew rules I use are as followed: The party stash can only be accessed when in a settlement. Items can freely be put into the stash at anytime, but pulling items out of the stash cannot be done while out in the wilderness or exploring a dungeon.

How Mark creates a safe table
I make sure to hold a session 0 to go over expectations and rules, and we take a break in the middle of the session so that everyone has the chance to stretch, use the bathroom, or get something to eat or drink before getting back into the game. After the session, we go over how everyone felt about the session to get feedback. Feedback can be about how they liked or disliked the session or aspects of it, or to go over subjects from the session that they were uncomfortable with.
