About the adventure

🏔️Lost Mine of Phandelver + Dragon of Icespire Peak 🐉 What should have been a simple escort job for some extra gold quickly turns into something much bigger in this hybrid campaign that brings together everything the adventures Lost Mine of Phandelver and Dragon of Icespire Peak have to offer. Your job as a simple hired guard for a caravan to the frontier town of Phandalin takes a mysterious turn when you’re ambushed by goblins. Soon you find yourself caught in a search for your missing employer, a lost mine and the treasure within, and unearthing a deeper plot surrounding this small frontier town. Your quest takes you through forests and dungeons as you search for clues, seek to rescue your lost employer and ultimately try to locate the missing treasure. But as you search, you hear rumors of a dragon and whispers of a mysterious Black Spider who may have bigger plans for Phandalin. The fate of this town may rest in your hands. What to expect: 📚 Combined campaign Experience two classic D&D starter campaigns (Lost Mine of Phandelver and Dragon of Icespire Peak) combined into one larger adventure refitted for 2024e/5.5e. Whatever choices you make around the town of Phandalin, your character will grow in combat, strategy, and roleplaying along the way, becoming a hero of Phandalin around Level 7. 🏰 Classic Fantasy Feel This campaign embraces the classic fantasy adventure. You’ll seek the thrill of hunting dangerous monsters, venture into dungeons searching for lost treasures, and encounter plenty of opportunities for adventure along the way. Will you pursue the main quest presented to you, or will that side quest you picked up in town, promising quick treasure and adventure, prove too tempting to ignore? 👥 Beginner and Experienced Player friendly Whether you’re completely new to Dungeons and Dragons or an experienced adventurer you’re welcome at the table. This campaign provides plenty of opportunities for new players to learn the ropes while also giving experienced players a longer-form adventure in which to develop and invest in their characters. 🤴 Characters have influence in the story My goal is to make your character feel like they belong in this world – not simply another adventurer passing through Phandalin, but a hero with their own story to tell. I’ll incorporate your character’s backstory (and relevant D&D lore) into the adventure whenever possible so your character becomes a part of this world. 🌟 The story continues… If the group wants to keep the story going, we can continue into another adventure using the characters you’ve spent the campaign developing and investing in. There’s always more adventure to be had! Most importantly, I want you to have fun, develop a character you love playing, and hopefully finish the campaign with stories you’ll still be telling your friends long after the adventure is over!

About me

📚 Avid consumer of TTRPG content 📜 Lover of strong world building and excellent lore 👤 Fan of playing in character even when the choices have consequences 🌽 Located in the Midwest 💚 Dad to twins and husband to a nerdy wife 🎞️ Here for teamwork, collaborative storytelling, and building epic tales where memories last long after the last die is rolled Welcome to Angelfire Games! I’m Andrew and I’m glad you’re here. I think TTRPGs are a great break from the craziness of our world and I love sitting down with players to create epic tales together. If you love building a character you’re excited about and jumping into a tale where everyone helps build the story, choices matter, and the stakes feel real, then you’ll fit in great at my table. Pull up a (virtual) chair and let’s roll some dice. What to expect with Angelfire Games: 🌎 Worlds where character choices impact the goings-on 🔦 Time for each character to get their moment in the spotlight 📚 Campaigns where backstories matter and characters are free to develop and grow 💡 Situations where creativity and teamwork are encouraged and rewarded 🧙‍♂️ Roleplay that matters and combat where the stakes feel real 🎲 A table where people can build memories, roll some dice, and have fun becoming heroes

What Angelfire Games 🪽🔥 brings to the table

As your GM, I'll provide an open world for you to explore, interact with, and, importantly, slay monsters! While the adventure has an overarching story, I encourage playing in character. You'll have opportunities to make your own choices, pursue different paths, and discover what Phandalin and the surrounding frontier have to offer. I'll always work to incorporate your character's backstory into the adventure whenever possible. Your character shouldn't feel like they were simply dropped into the story—they should feel like they belong in it. I'll look for opportunities to connect your character's history, goals, and personality with the world and the campaign arc. 🧝‍♀️Immersion & Storytelling 🧙‍♂️ I'll work to provide an immersive experience through roleplay, lore, world-building, and storytelling. I'll draw from the existing lore of the Forgotten Realms while also expanding on the world around Phandalin to make the setting feel alive. I'm not a professional voice actor, but I'll use voices and character mannerisms when I feel comfortable doing so to help bring NPCs and the world to life. Don't expect a one-man Broadway production—just expect me to have fun with it! 📜 Rules & The Rule of Cool 😎 We'll generally follow Rules as Written (RAW) for character traits, abilities, and the D&D 2024/5.5e rules. However, when an opportunity comes up where bending the rules can create an especially exciting or memorable moment for everyone, I embrace the Rule of Cool. The goal isn't to ignore the rules, but to use them as a framework for creating a fun and engaging game. At the end of the day, we're here to roll some dice, tell a great story, watch our characters do awesome things, and have fun doing it!

Homebrew rules

The only homebrew rule I currently bring to the table involves Death Saving Throws. Three failed Death Saving Throws do not always mean your character dies. However, they will result in death during a boss fight. You will be made aware when you’re entering a boss fight. That said, I'm open to player-suggested homebrew! If everyone at the table agrees and it makes the game more fun, I'm happy to consider it.

Safety

How Angelfire Games 🪽🔥 creates a safe table

At the beginning of the session, I will ask if there are any topics, themes, or triggers that players would like me to be aware of. You are never required to share these publicly with the group. If you'd rather discuss something privately, you are welcome to send me a direct message at any time, including prior to gameplay. I will do my best to respect your boundaries and avoid intentionally introducing content that may make you uncomfortable. My goal is to create a table where everyone feels safe, respected, and able to enjoy the game.
