About the adventure

The Realm of Sanneron is a Gritty, Dark Fantasy adventure with a few rule changes to make the game more focused on real random encounters and survival. (Dark Fantasy, Horror, Graphic Violence, and Adult themes.) RULE CHANGES: The biggest change to Rules as written for this campaign is a change made to Resting. In this hostile world, a Long Rest is not so easy. Sleeping in the wild, or camping along the road counts only as a short rest. You can long rest at "Safe spaces" such as towns or villages. This makes travel more dangerous and lets players take advantage of short rest abilities more often. (looking at you, Warlocks.) The other big rule change is that you gain a level of exhaustion every time you reach 0 HP. making it more realistic to stand from no health. after going down 6 times. the exhaustion level 6 will kill you. This is a survival/Travel game, meaning we will track food, and arrows. Getting from point A to Point B may be a pain, and you may have to turn back to rest in town. This campaign will not hold your hand, so feel free to run from a fight. The Realm of Sanneron is a custom world inspired by writings from "H.P. Lovecraft" and "Cassandra Khaw". Movies like the "Color Out of Space" and "The Thing". A story about the unknown. Cosmic horrors, and things beyond the human imagination. It's also a story about hope, and hopelessness. How we, as human hold on to Hope, for as long as we can. There is a plague that has intertwined with the flora and fauna of Sanneron. It has left the nature of the land to twist into a hollow, gnarled version of its former self. The Wildlife has mutated into vicious otherworldly creatures with a taste for blood. These monstrosities stick to the ever-lingering fog that sits beneath the trees, While most settlements stay within their walls, the north have taken to burning the trees in attempts to keep the creatures at bay. The Dangerous island holds great opportunities for those willing to stray from the roads. The land is rich in resource, and many people are more than willing to pay for hard to gather materials. (This is a homebrew world that was developed over several years, with custom encounter tables, custom monsters, and an entire herbalist/Alchemy system, With custom survival tables for things like herbs, fishing, hunting, and monster encounters. It also has a gridded map of the island so we know how far you can get with 1 day's travel.)

Character creation

Creating your character

having a premade level 2 character is Ideal. If you don't have a character sheet made, please have an idea in mind. I don't mind taking some time for session 1 to get characters together, But I don't want to spend more than 30 minutes getting characters made, We are here to play, after all. I Don't care where your character sheets is made/used. You can use alchemy's dice roller or roll physical dice if you wish. (honor system). I allow anything within the 5E 2014 rules EXCEPT Unearthed arcana. (anything else goes that is officially licensed by WoTC. that means no third party content. I allow Blood hunters and artificers. and Any races or spells from the licensed 5E source books and adventures. Xanathars, Tasha's , Wildemount, Etc.)

What to expect

Preparing for the session

you will need to download and make an account for AlchemyVTT at AlchemyRPG.com That's all you need, other than a character concept/sheet.
