About the adventure
Welcome Heroes! A dark evening turns to a living nightmare as the party finds themselves trapped in the cursed land of Barovia, a valley filled with mystic fog, werewolves, vampires, and horror. The ruler of this land has been toying with the poor denizens here for centuries, and not even death allows for an escape from this hell. Sharpen your stakes, shine your silver, and prepare the holy symbols: the only way out of here is by putting this ancient evil back in the ground. This campaign is the famous Curse of Strahd story that so many have come to love over the years: the tale of fighting an evil vampire and his valley of horrors. Cursed woods, dark gods, witches, undead, and abominations aplenty, this world is a monster hunter’s dream! Players looking for an expansive story with lots of interesting characters and interconnected plots are sure to have a field day with this adventure, tailor made to make sure players get the best experience possible with this classic tale. This module has a strong emphasis on story and decisions with lasting consequences, a deeply personal dive into gothic turmoil!

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hello everyone! I've been a GM for about 7 years now, running games for both official D&D modules as well my own TTRPG system that's been in the works for just as long. I'm very relaxed and willing to indulge in all sorts of character nonsense. If you can give me some proper notice, I'll allow just about any ideas into my games, as nothing brings me more joy than seeing players make their dreams a reality. My favorite part of games like these is that they're imaginative, so the only real limit is your imagination! With my games, I am completely confident with that claim. I've ran more than 1,000 games over the past 7 years and I welcome players of all backgrounds to my tables. I've taught the rules to dozens of players, and I'm more than happy to help any newcomers learn the ropes of TTRPGs in whichever way I can. Having worked plenty of times with both adults and kids alike, I'm very attentive when it comes to communication and am always open and available to discuss anything when it comes to the game, whether that be character building, rule clarification, or even just general chat. If you'd like to learn more about the Horrors and Hellscapes project or would like to see some active beta-testing of it, please use the links below! : Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/VirulentGames Twitch - https://www.twitch.tv/convulse751 In all of my games, Sessions 0 and 1 are free!

Creating your character
I adore working with my players to make sure their characters and their backstories make sense within the setting and matter to the overarching story of the campaign. I have access to a ton of the WotC materials on my roll20 compendium, so players are free to make characters within the game itself for ease of use. For this campaign, I’d recommend making a character who would work well in dark and gloomy gothic settings. Vampire hunters, demon slayers, anything with low tech and a propensity for magic or the occult works wonders here. Heck, you can even play as a werewolf yourself! Barovia itself is a land that sees little and trusts even less, so choosing to play somethin akin to a typical human can actually be a really strong benefit for a place whose people are frightened of anything too strange.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All you need to bring is a Discord and Roll20 account, a stable internet connection, and a working microphone. A webcam is also encouraged but completely optional. Also, a love for adventure! I’ve been running games for years with all sorts of players, and I’ve found that no matter your experience with ttrpgs, your ability to do roleplay, or your knowledge of combat and numbers, the best thing to bring is a hunger for exciting stories and marvelous worlds. With a positive attitude and a love for your fellow player, the world can be yours!
What Daniel Lizcano brings to the table
I’ve ran Curse of Strahd plenty of times over the past 7 years and am happy to say that I’ve made lots of tweaks and changes to the campaign as a whole to allow players to fully submerse themselves in Barovia’s story, making a complete experience in a single campaign without any rocks left unturned. My hope is to bring you an unforgettable experience where you can play out your power fantasies to your heart’s content! I also include a bit from the new Ravenloft: Horrors within book, so you get to see even more content than usual! The maps I utilize take full advantage of dynamic lighting within roll20, and I’m extremely well versed when it comes to improvising and improving adventures or characters on the spot no matter what the group wants to go with. This story is yours, so please, do as you wish!
Homebrew rules
I'm good with almost any sort of homebrew my players want to bring to the table, whether that be a particular item, character race, subclass, or otherwise. So long as I have proper notice and can look it over for myself, I welcome anything that makes the game more fun for you. :)

How Daniel Lizcano creates a safe table
Having ran more than 1,300 games over the past 7 years with all sorts of people, I welcome players of all ages and backgrounds and am happy to teach new players the ropes of the game without needing to slow things down. I always run a session 0 for groups, and a small meeting with individual players if they want before any games begin in case they'd like to meet me one-on-one. If there are any needs that a player has, whether that be avoiding certain triggers, being mindful of certain character traits, or literally anything else, I am always more than happy to alter my games to accommodate them.
