About the adventure

You have come to owe a favor to a dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker. A known treasure hunter and archeologist, Gundren has been at the cusp of some great find and has now called upon you to make good on what you owe. Your task is simple enough. Yourself and a few others must escort a cart of supplies to the frontier village of Phandalin. It's just a simple two day trip, absolutely nothing to worry about... In this module you will: ⚔️ Face classic foes such as mischievous goblins, cutthroat brigands, evil wizards, rotting undead and perhaps even meet a vile dragon. 🗺️Explore the frontier village of Phandalin, goblin caves, bugbear keeps, bandit hideouts, abandoned towns and the titular Lost Mine of Phandelver.

About me

I have been playing Dungeons & Dragons since 2017 and have been a Dungeon Master since 2019. Most of that time has been spent running modules, one shots, and adaptations of old CRPGS. I am a big fan of RAW. Your spells and abilities will work as per their description, but that doesn't mean I won't let you try to use them creatively. Worst that could happen is I say "Sorry..." I am also really into being a fan of my players. My games will never have an adversarial (GM vs Players) spirit. I will cheer with you while you slay my Big Bad Evil Guy with a critical hit. Currently, I’m focused on running games for new players, with the goal of helping them learn the game and develop a lasting interest in the hobby.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will happen during the free Session 0. Characters will start at level 2. Attributes will be allocated using 27 point buy. The Player's Handbook 2024 will be available in the Foundry server for perusal and reference. Only official DND 2024 content found in the Player's Handbook may be used for character creation. If you have any questions feel free to send me a DM

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need Discord for voice and a free ForgeVTT account to access the Foundry server.

What MikeTheDM brings to the table

I bring the full Lost Mine of Phandelver module to bear which includes all relevant battle maps, region maps, town maps, NPCs and monsters. I have the 2024 Player's Handbook in the Foundry server available for perusal and reference. In addition to that, there will also be some automation available in the Foundry server to help speed up combat. Although I am definitively not a voice actor, I try my best to add a touch of personality to the various monsters and npcs that players will come across.

Safety

How MikeTheDM creates a safe table

Lost Mine of Phandelver is a typical fantasy adventure. The situations that happen in that module are similar to what one would find in Lord of the Rings (to a less epic extent.) In saying that though if there are any themes or situations that are uncomfortable this can all be discussed in Session 0 or by directly messaging me either on the Discord server or Startplaying
