About the adventure
Rupert Merriweather is very ill in a Hospital. He calls you to his bedside and asks you to finish a task that he started years ago, but couldn't finish. He hands you a set of keys and a box and soon you're on your way to an abandoned farm house. As you arrive, all seems normal. Time will tell if that is the case! • We'll be playing within 20minutes • This game is best played by those, who've played at a one-shot. • You don't need to know the game rules. • We'll have a quick chat about what sort of character you'd like to play and I'll advice on good choices from the pre-made characters.

About me
Hey there, my name is Jean-Paul and I'm known as Japes (jay-ps). I'll be your Game Master and a responsible for bringing the games together. Fair warning, I'm dyslexic and have a dry sense of humour. Both rule KO here… I find the shared experience of these fantasy worlds is like a simmering cauldron: we all put our ideas in, and give it a gentle stir. This sort of creativity gives plenty of room for your imagination to take flight... just don't be like Icarus! All of these games are in a safe, creative space. For your part, be courteous to everyone in the game. It doesn't matter if you're playing a 1920s FBI agent in a Cthulhu Mythos romp, a piece of Sapient Pearwood in Discworld, or a Fairy Barbarian who growls at enemies, play them like you mean it. Join us in a game. I can't wait to see how your fun ideas work out.

Creating your character
There are pre-made characters who are perfect for this short adventures. You'll be able to read the PDFs beforehand, and happy to advice on them. • If you would like to create your own character, please use the Dhole's House (https://www.dholeshouse.org) points buy wizard. • Original character portrait art in the style of the era.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
No prior experience needed. What I do hope you'll bring: • A desire to roleplay your character and be a cooperative player. • No need for a 'character voice', but this is a safe and welcoming place to give it a try if you'd like to. Equipment • A reliable PC with a Chromium-based browser. • A working gaming headset, or a mic and headphones. • A webcam is preferred as it adds to the experience. • Free accounts for the systems we use. I'll send links once you've joined.
What Japes brings to the table
• If you've not played before, I'll guide you through the game mechanics as we play. • I'll bring the NPCs to life with voices of their own. • Colour hand-drawn maps. • Background music. The volume is in your control. • Storytelling that brings real narrative suspense to the table. • I use optimisation mods and can guide you to a lightweight client if you use a low powered PC/Laptop. • A sprinkle of dry humour that gives every game its own unique flavour.

How Japes creates a safe table
• We'll be using the Deck of Player Safety, which lets you share your Lines privately. • I'm committed to making these games inclusive for every player at the table. • We'll take a 5–10 minute break halfway through the session, plenty of time to top up drinks and snacks.
