About the adventure

This is the second Episode in The Color Animal Inn's ***Mirondar*** setting, a homebrew world once again rising from the ashes of devastation. 50 years ago, the city of Mirondar was pivotal in mankind's victory in The Demon War. But now another danger is rising... signs and portents, curious events and dangerous encounters, and new Heroes are needed to face them. Your character has been invited to The Color Animal Inn, in the city of Mirondar, to join with other adventurers in hopes of finding a party that can defeat the rising evil. The town's economy is in shambles, as the workers at the only local Iron mine are on strike! They claim the mines are haunted... that mysterious eyes watch them from the darkness, that grasping arms clutch at them when nobody else is near, that the howling wails of lost souls are heard from the lower level's new excavations. Whatever is happening, they refuse to go back to work until they're convinced it's safe. Can you solve this minor mystery?

Character creation

Creating your character

Bring your character from prior Episodes of The Color Animal Inn, or: Create a Level 3 character using the 2024 Player's Handbook, with Standard Array for attributes. Adventuring gear will be provided. New Adventurers will have assistance in character creation, as needed, by Session One.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Discord will be used for voice communication. Roll20 will be used for character sheets, mapping, and other automation. You will need a computer able to handle the above (a phone or tablet is not sufficient, by itself) and reasonably quiet surroundings during the sessions.

What Barth brings to the table

This is the third in a series of Episodes, which make up the larger Campaign world of "Mirondar," a setting I've been building for about 30 years, which has been the home of dozens of adventuring parties which have left their marks on the story. As a GM, I focus on two things: Player Agency and Collaborative Storytelling. Your character is free to do almost anything within the story, it's my job to accommodate that. We will work together as allies, not enemies, to create an entertaining story that, hopefully, you'll be talking about years from now!

Homebrew rules

A few homebrew rules, nothing too strange. Mostly we follow 2024 RAW, but Rule of Cool can override that (sometimes.)
