About the adventure
Fifteen years ago an eldritch storm showered upon the Seat of Power in Westemär, Drakkenheim, leaving the city in ruins. With the monarchy presumed dead, a decade of civil war has stretched the realms resources thin and political relations even thinner. As various factions begin taking expeditions into city, what hope remains to restore stability has been placed on reclaiming the corpse of Drakkenheim. If only it were that easy. Drakkenheim is a husk crawling with disgusting abominations, mutated horrors, and a mist that permeates your body and mind. With all these obstacles, the factions hope and need to attract the attention of talented adventurers like you to advance their causes! Your band of adventurers will delve these ruins in search of treasure, lost knowledge, and Delirium, an expensive albeit dangerous magical crystal left strewn across the city when the stars fell. Hold onto your sanity, make difficult decisions that help or hinder the various factions, confront rival adventurers and ultimately decide the fate of Drakkenheim itself! Features; -Beginner friendly, let your first campaign be grand! -A gently remixed Drakkenheim with more eldritch horror for your eldritch horror! -Experience corruption of body and mind with Steinhardt's Madness system complimenting Drakkenheim's Corruption system in play! -A dense sandbox campaign where your choices can have rippling effects! -Tense exploration, dynamic factions, fun NPCs, life-threatening combat! -Plenty of levity to offset the grim nature of this game! Expanded Content Warning; The Madness of Drakkenheim contains content that may not be suitable for some individuals, such content includes; -Violence, murder, blood, gore, cannibalism and body horror. -Degenerative mutations, physical disfigurement, madness/insanity. -Rats, spiders, demons, undead, ghosts, and plenty of other monsters. -Natural disasters, large-scale loss of life, civil war, displaced persons and refugees. -Moral ambiguity, social/political manipulation, religious zealotry and military nationalism.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hey there, I'm Skyler, an AuDHD TTRPG nerd that's been running games on and off for almost 8 years now. For me, tabletop gaming is a sort of social therapy, a way to bridge gaps and make new friends, to tell stories that are uniquely our own. It is hands down my favorite hobby and I hope to share my love of it with you! Outside of tabletop, I am a 3D artist and mediocre game designer that loves movies and Ryan Gosling.

Creating your character
Character Creation is handled 100% within FoundryVTT, no D&DBeyond (I'm sorry.) Our first Session together, Session 0, will primarily consist of collaborative character creation, thus you should not arrive to Session 0 with a character made in stone. Characters will begin at 1st Level Ability Scores are assigned via this array; 16, 15, 13, 12, 10, 8 For a bit of simplicity and balance, I will not be allowing multiclassing in this campaign. Pre-approved Character Creation materials are as follows; PHB 2024 Dungeons of Drakkenheim Sebastian Crowe's Guide to Drakkenheim Steinhardt's Guide to the Eldritch Hunt Valda's Spire of Secrets (2014) However, do not let this discourage you from asking if there is something you'd like that I do not have, we'll work it out.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Discord with a microphone, camera optional but encouraged! Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Opera (Foundry doesn't support Opera GX officially, but I've had no issue) to access Foundry. Come prepared to have fun and make new friends!
What Skyler brings to the table
With me as your Game Master, you can expect a player-driven experience where I am, first and foremost, your biggest fans. While I want you to succeed, your foes will not. My mindset is Rule of Cool-forward with the understanding that rules exist for a reason, and I will lovingly bend them appropriately. That means harrowing combat and daring heroics!
Homebrew rules
I will be using a smattering of alternative rules in this campaign, some of them are; -Drakkenheim's Corruption rules -Steinhardt's Madness rules -Full action Healing Potions; Consume a Healing Potion as a Full action for max healing. Consume as a Bonus Action for rolled Healing. -Big Crits; Critical Hit's maximize your crit dice. -You can stow any held items and then draw any item before or after your Attack action. The simpler explanation is; if there's an item you want in your hands before or after an Action, you can swap the items around. -Critical Role's Resurrection Rules And more, a full list of alternate rules will be available for review in the Discord!

How Skyler creates a safe table
Upon joining the Discord, you will be directed to fill out the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist and then DM it to me. Afterwards, we will have Session 0, talk about the Open Door Policy, Lines and Veils as well as Stars and Wishes. X/N/O's are simply DM'd to me privately via Discord messages. After a session, we can chill out and chat for a bit if you so desire! Keep in mind, the idea of Session 0 doesn't end just because we moved to Session 1 and beyond, it's an ongoing discussion so never be nervous to bring a problem to me!
