About the adventure
Ostoya is a gothic dark fantasy land ruled by vampires. The sun has been stolen from the sky by a centuries-old calamity and has not shone on the land in living memory. Pockets of desperate resistance cling onto old stories and ancient archaelogical clues of a possible location for The Unseen Sun. This is a setting about flickering points of light, holding out against an overwhelmingly oppressive darkness. If you want to play the underdogs fighting against a tyrannical regime of immortal vampires, make hard choices and feel the gritty cost of resistance - then this campaign setting is for you! This one-shot dungeon crawl is designed to teach players about PF2e's mechanics and introduce them to the world of Ostoya. We will be using Gradual Ability Boost, Automatic Bonus Progression and eventually (unlocked through the campaign) Free Archetype. For the one-shot introduction, the first two rules will apply with Level 2 or 3 characters (depending on the experience level of the players). I hope to provide you and your table with a great introduction to the exploration and dungeon crawling elements that PF2e does extraordinarily well while also allowing you to build characters with great roleplaying opportunities in case you decide to continue from this one-shot into a full length campaign.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I'm a professional Game Master and when I'm lucky - occassional player - of TTRPGs specialising in Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition and Pathfinder 2E. I am passionate about creating an atmosphere of immersion for my games through theatrics, acting, sound effects, music, maps and illustrations for our games. I find it makes everyone more comfortable to play to their fullest :) I have run most of my games through FoundryVTT and know how to customise an adventure module to make it a memorable experience for any player. It is important for me to facilitate a respectful and warm space for everyone to play the characters they want and tell the stories they want. I hope we can build a memorable world together, slay together and stay together!

Creating your character
Characters will be built in Pathbuilder at Level 2 and imported into FoundryVTT.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Bring a friendly attitude and a good sense of humor! For those who are new to Pathfinder and have experience with D&D, welcome! This campaign is a great opportunity to learn the ropes of the system while leaning into some awesome Castlevania/Van Hellsing vampire hunter gothic tropes. I only request that you must have a working mic, and if you wish to have voice activation on, that you don't have excessive background noise or are willing to switch to push-to-talk if it becomes an issue. I use FoundryVTT and Discord as my methods for Roleplaying, though no experience is needed with Foundry to start - all you need is a bit of patience to learn, and we will teach. A Discord account is required. Besides that, no software is needed! Some recommended tools to assist in character creation would be Pathbuilder (free), and learning basic familiarity with the Foundry VTT tool controls is an asset, but not required. I love creating stories that I can share with my own friends, and I know you will too - I am running this campaign to put PF2e through it's paces as a system for great mechanical guidelines as well as storytelling opportunities.
What Robin brings to the table
Besides everything you'd expect from a virtual TTRPG module professionally prepared, you'll have access to a living investigator's board that details how you and your precinct have done in the campaign so far. Very useful for sharing stories with friends, looking up notes for things the group may have forgotten, or even just for having a good laugh about the good times and the bad. I also have a lot of purchased virtual content that I like to use - premium maps that I have made myself or have subscribed to, and my adventures are never limited to what's written in the campaign books. In fact this adventure has mostly been rebuilt from the ground up to allow for much more of an exploration of the lands of Ostoya.

How Robin creates a safe table
Lines and veils document will be provided and followed. I like to have a session 0 where we lay all our expectations out on the table and make sure everyone's up for what's involved in the adventure, and usually this only takes 30 minutes or so. I have no problem changing the content of the adventure path to better suit people's comfort levels, as long as I'm told about it. If there are new players to Foundry and/or Pathfinder 2e, I ask for some patience as we spend a bit of time on Session 0/1 getting them familiar with the tools. At the end of each session, I do a Debrief that is similar to the Stars & Wishes system - to facilitate feedback and to highlight great moments from the game.
