About the adventure

Congratulations — you've just been hired as one of the Keeper's Hands, Your first official duty? A team-building dinner at the city's best-reviewed seafood restaurant, The Gilded Gill. But something is off tonight. Is it the night air? Or the scent of the oil from the burning table lamps? Maybe the aroma wafting across the room from the busy sounding kitchen? What if it's the worst night of chef Kaz's life, turning your quiet, team-building dinner into a kitchen-clearing, plate-throwing, tentacle-flailing disaster with you stuck right in the middle! Welcome to this One-Shot Wonder Coastal Adventure where ALL are welcome. Create your own character or use one of the provided pre-generated characters. So joining is easy, and you can get right to the first course! Tone: Comedy horror — chaotic, a little slimy, plenty of screaming, nothing gruesome.

About me

I played my first RPG back in the mid-80s with AD&D. After a few decades working and raising a family, I was re-introduced to D&D when my adult children asked to learn D&D during the Pandemic and after watching Stranger Things. So I relearned D&D and started family sessions as their GM. I fell back in love with roleplaying and wanted to play as a player as well. I found StartPlaying and played as many one-shots as I could fit into my schedule. I've since retired, expanded the Family sessions to Friends & Family, joined Startplaying campaigns instead of one-shots. I now run games for others

Safety

How GM Mike creates a safe table

Players will need to agree to general safety rules as outlined on my Discord server. We will spend the first few minutes of the session covering Lines & Veils and how to utilize an "X" card during gameplay. I also have an open door policy where players can reach out to me prior to a session or during a break in a live session.
