About the adventure

Dracula has been defeated—but the night did not die with him. It is 1488, twelve years after Trevor Belmont and his allies broke Dracula’s war against humanity. Vampire courts feud over ruined kingdoms. Masterless night creatures haunt the old roads. Across Europe, pieces of Dracula’s Castle appear for a few hours and vanish before dawn, taking whole rooms, families, and histories with them. You are the generation that comes after the legends: monster hunters, Speaker magicians, dhampir outcasts, exorcists, relic thieves, cursed survivors, and ordinary people who decided the darkness had taken enough. When a village disappears and leaves only its church behind, you uncover the Crimson Synod. This secret alliance is collecting fragments of the Castle to crown a new Dark Lord. To stop it, you will hunt monsters, investigate supernatural mysteries, bargain with dangerous factions, wield iconic subweapons, and enter Castle ruins that rewrite the rules of reality. This is a character-driven gothic horror campaign inspired by the classic Castlevania games and animated series. Expect tactical combat, exploration, tragic villains, memorable NPCs, and hard choices—but also courageous people, dark humor, and victories that matter. The famous heroes belong to history. This story belongs to your hunters. No Castlevania expertise is required. Longtime fans will find deep cuts and familiar lore; new players will learn everything their characters need through play. What makes this campaign different: Learn the monster, then kill it: Research weaknesses and interrupt signature powers with Monster Lore. Fight like a Castlevania hunter: Spend Hearts on daggers, axes, holy water, crosses, and the stopwatch. Face bosses with phases: Break visible Wards, transform the battlefield, and earn the finishing blow. Shape the final Castle: Every fragment you destroy, purify, surrender, or use changes the last dungeon. Carry a signature relic: Your personal weapon or focus grows with your story. Matter more than the canon heroes: Established characters never arrive to solve your problem.

About me

Your character should change the world—and the world should remember. I’m Colwyn, a professional Game Master with more than two decades of experience creating immersive adventures across fantasy, horror, science fiction, and superhero settings. My tables are built around living worlds, memorable characters, meaningful decisions, and consequences that make your victories feel earned. You might uncover a conspiracy beneath an ancient kingdom, confront something impossible among the stars, investigate a horror that should have remained forgotten, or discover what being a hero truly costs. I specialize in Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 and 5e (2014), Dolmenwood, Starfinder 1e and 2e, Mutants & Masterminds 3e, and Call of Cthulhu 7e. I enjoy welcoming new players, challenging experienced ones, and helping every character become an important part of the story. I prepare deeply but remain flexible. Your decisions can redirect the campaign, unexpected ideas are encouraged, and I am comfortable improvising when the party leaves the anticipated path. I believe the best stories are created together rather than handed down by the GM. I am also a disabled GM living with Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita. Imagination has always been one of my greatest tools, and accessibility, communication, patience, and respect are important parts of the experience I provide. Come to the table ready to explore, discover, survive—and leave your mark upon the world.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters begin at level 3 using the 2024 revised D&D rules, standard array or point buy, and milestone advancement. Humans, dhampirs, reborn, and hexbloods fit especially well, but other official options can be adapted to the setting. Every class can work with the right gothic expression. We will build characters together during Session Zero. Six pregenerated hunters are available if you want to begin quickly. Every character receives a custom Hunter’s Relic that advances during the campaign.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

What players should prepare: A free Roll20 account. Discord and a reliable microphone. A browser or device that can run the virtual tabletop. A character concept, if you have one; system mastery is not required. A willingness to collaborate, make bold choices, and help other characters shine.

What Colwyn the Conqueror brings to the table

A custom Roll20 game with maps, handouts, tokens, and music controls. A setting primer and character guide. Pregenerated characters and guided character creation. Original Castlevania-inspired mechanics, relics, monsters, and multi-stage bosses. Session recaps and clear milestone tracking. A consistent safety toolkit and private check-in channel. A campaign with a planned ending and clear act breaks. New to D&D or online play? You are welcome. Session Zero includes guided character creation and a short tutorial encounter. Rules will be taught in context, and the custom mechanics use simple visible trackers.
