About the adventure

Welcome to Waterdeep, the City of Splendors, where fortunes are made, secrets are traded, and everyone has something to hide. Half a million gold coins have vanished into a hidden vault, and some of the city's most dangerous figures are determined to find them. What begins as a simple missing person investigation soon draws you into a web of criminal organizations, political intrigue, unlikely alliances, and dangerous secrets. In a city where everyone wants something, who can you really trust? ROLEPLAY HEAVY AND CHARACTER DRIVEN Expect investigations, social encounters, recurring NPCs, personal relationships, and decisions that shape how the story unfolds. Combat will absolutely have its place, but it won't be the primary focus. We'll be using the Nimble RPG, which streamlines traditional fantasy combat to keep encounters fast and exciting without sacrificing the adventure's high-fantasy feel. LOOKING FOR Players who enjoy actively engaging with the story, interacting with NPCs and fellow characters, and taking initiative rather than waiting for the GM to direct every moment. You don't need to be an experienced roleplayer, perform character voices, or be comfortable with theatrical acting. What matters is your willingness to participate, collaborate, and take your character and the world seriously. If you primarily enjoy tactical combat or prefer to sit back and let others drive the story (which is a legitimate playstyle), but this probably won't be the right fit. CAMPAIGN LENGTH AND EXPECTATIONS Approximately 15 to 25 sessions. We play Fridays at 1 PM Eastern, following a three-weeks-on, one-week-off schedule. Sessions run around 3 hours, with a minimum of 2 hours. Though the exact length will depend on the group's decisions and pacing. Since this is intended to be a longer campaign, I'll meet individually with each player before we begin for a brief, informal conversation about expectations, roleplay preferences, tone, and playstyle. This isn't an audition or a test of your roleplaying ability. It's more an opportunity for us both to ask questions, get to know each other, and make sure this is the kind of game you'll genuinely enjoy committing to.

About me

Hey I'm Maia (my-ee-uh), a storyteller, actual play producer, and longtime lover of narrative-driven games. I found TTRPGS a few years ago and immediately fell in love with how collaborative, emotional, and unpredictable they can be. I've been GMing ever since-building immersive worlds, guiding personal arcs, and chasing those unforgettable table moments that happen when a group really clicks. In addition to private campaigns, I also create and publish actual plays, both live streamed and edited, on Twitch, YouTube, and podcast platforms. Producing those shows has sharpened my sense of pacing, tone, and scene work, and I bring that same care to every table I run, whether we're recording or just playing for fun privately.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will hold a dedicated session zero to create characters together, ensuring the team is cohesive and everyone understands the system. You do not need to prepare anything before this meeting, as we will build everything from scratch to fit the game's tone.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Ensure you have an active Discord account, as this is where we will handle all communication, session scheduling, and game organization. I will send out the invite link to our dedicated Discord server once the group is finalized. You do not need to download or install any other specialized software to play.

What Maia (my-ee-uh) brings to the table

I focus on creating immersive, character-driven stories where your choices matter. My games emphasize meaningful roleplay, memorable NPCs, personal relationships, and a world that responds to your actions. I'll weave your character's backstory into the campaign whenever possible, giving you opportunities to explore who they are and what matters to them.

Safety

How Maia (my-ee-uh) creates a safe table

Before we begin, I will provide a link to an anonymous, shared Google spreadsheet for Lines and Veils. This allows everyone to see boundaries collectively while maintaining privacy. We will review the Lines and Veils document during our session zero to ensure everyone is aligned on expectations and comfort levels. Communication is paramount. If any theme, description, or event does not sit well with you, please do not hesitate to speak up. You are always empowered to voice concerns at any time, whether during play or privately. We always conclude our sessions with a brief check-in to ensure everyone feels good about the direction of the story and their character's experience.
