I want you to be 100% sure that you love the campaign premise, feel comfortable with the other players, and vibe with me as your DMāall without the pressure of paying just to meet everyone and set up your character. I only charge for the epic, action-packed gameplay sessions we all love. Come check it out risk-free! Heroes of the Borderlands is an introductory campaign for the latest edition of the worldās most famous roleplaying game. It is perfectly crafted for absolute beginners taking their first steps, as well as seasoned veterans who love a balanced mix of deep roleplaying, immersive exploration, and tactical combat. š° The Fortress: Your Sanctuary The adventure centers around a border fortressāa bastion of humanity standing vigil over the unknown. But this stronghold is more than just stone walls; it is a living, breathing ecosystem. It is packed with unique characters eager to share their stories, forge bonds, and offer quests. The fortress represents safety, guidance, light, and hope. It will become your home base, your sanctuary, and the launching pad from which you will venture into the dark. š² The Wildlands: Untamed Peril Beyond the gates lie the Wildlands, a harsh and indomitable frontier. Dense forests, treacherous swamps, and jagged rocky plains serve as the hunting grounds for countless lifeforms. Here, massive beasts fiercely guard their territories, while mysterious, fleeting silhouettes whisper secrets from the shadows. ā°ļø The Caves of Chaos: Fortune and Ruin Looming over the landscape from the peak of the highest hill are the Caves of Chaos. This ruined, desolate labyrinth serves as a breeding ground and hideout for dozens of vicious factions and predatory monsters. Rumor has it that within these deadly depths, the region's greatest treasures and oldest mysteries are waiting to be found.

About me
I'm a D&D and TTRPG enthusiast with around 10 years of experience running tables, both long term campaigns and casual one shots. Being from Chile, a South American country, my first and main language is Spanish, but I'm fluent in English as well and more than willing to narrate on either language.

Creating your character
šWelcome to the campaign! To get your character ready for this adventure, we will be using the following guidelines: Ruleset & Platform: We are using the 2024 Player's Handbook rules. Everything you need is fully accessible and integrated through our Roll20 VTT (Virtual Tabletop) platform. (If you are new to Roll20 or VTTs in general, don't worry! I will gladly guide you step-by-step and teach you the basics). Starting Level: Characters start at Level 1. These will be your character's very first steps on their adventuring journey. Backstory Matters: Because this is an open-ended "sandbox" campaign, your character's backstory, personal goals, and motivations are just as important as their class, species, and background. Your choices will directly shape the plot and flesh out the meaning of this world! Ability Scores: To determine your attributes, you can choose between rolling the dice, using the Point Buy system, or using the Standard Array provided by the core rules. Feel free to let your imagination fly! I am here to provide all the support you need to build your mechanics and craft a unique backstory that fits perfectly into the campaign. šāØ
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To participate in this campaign, you will need the following: A Discord Account: We use Discord for voice chat, background music, and optional video calls. While seeing each other greatly improves the roleplaying experience, it is completely understandable if you are shy or uncomfortable sharing your webcam with people onlineāvideo is entirely optional! A Roll20 Account: Sign up for free on Roll20. This platform allows you to participate in this campaign and many other tabletop RPGs, as it is one of the most prominent Virtual Tabletops (VTTs) available. A Headset with an Integrated Microphone: Keeping our audio clean and free of background noise is essential for a smooth, immersive, and enjoyable experience for everyone at the table.
What Alberto "Copro" brings to the table
What I Provide as Your DM š² In my 10+ years of experience playing TTRPGsāespecially D&DāI have learned that player agency is the most vital ingredient for an amazing game. To me, agency means your characters have the freedom to pursue their own desires, act on their wildest ideas, and make a meaningful impact on the story. You will never feel like passive spectators here; you are the authors of this adventure. To provide a fertile soil where your ideas can flourish, I bring the world to life using: - Immersive Visuals: Full-color maps, beautiful scenario art, and Dynamic Lighting to make exploration tense, tactical, and visually stunning. -Rich Descriptions: Detailed and evocative narratives of your surroundings. -Memorable NPCs: Unique voices and distinct personalities for every character you meet. -Curated Soundtracks: Dynamic background music tailored to each scene to enhance the mood and pacing. The Rule of Cool ⨠I am very open to the use of the Rule of Cool. Rules exist to give coherence to our shared world, not to act as a barrier to your creativity. If you want to attempt something epic, creative, or downright cinematic, I will work with you to make it happenāeven if it means bending or expanding the rules written on the page. If it makes the story better and everyone has fun, we go for it!
Homebrew rules
Since this is a beginner-friendly campaign, my goal is to keep the mechanics as vanilla as possible so you can master the core basics of the game easily. That being said, there is one optional homebrew rule for Death Saving Throws that I love using because it builds incredible cinematic tension: Secret Death Saves (Optional): When your character falls unconscious, your Death Saving Throws will be whispered directly to the DM instead of shown to the whole table. Your companions won't know if you are succeeding or failing until they approach your character for a closer inspection. Note: Since this rule is entirely optional, we can vote as a group during Session 0 to decide if we want to use it!

How Alberto "Copro" creates a safe table
Safety tools are essential for maintaining a welcoming environment, ensuring everyone treats each other with respect, and preventing topics that could cause genuine discomfort, trigger phobias, or cause distress. Because tabletop RPGs are immersive, they can sometimes cross into sensitive areas. Your well-being as players will always come before the story or the game's content. To keep the game fun, lighthearted, and safe for everyone, we will use the following tools: Lines and Veils: Together during Session 0, we will create a shared list of boundaries. Lines are topics that are completely banned and will not appear in the game. Veils are sensitive subjects that can exist in the background but will be "veiled" (fade to black) with little to no description to avoid discomfort. This list is never written in stoneāit can be updated or renegotiated at any time as the campaign progresses. The X-Card: Even with Lines and Veils, unexpected situations can turn fun into discomfort in real life. If a scene, description, or element ever triggers you or makes you feel unsafe, you can use the X-Card to stop the game immediately, no questions asked. We will pause, tone things down, and adjust the content so you can feel comfortable again. You do not have to explain why you are using it unless you want to.
