About the adventure
Fresh out of prison and already looking for work? Welcome back to the Stardust Rhapsody. Maybe you deserved your sentence. Maybe you were framed. Maybe you took the fall for somebody who owes you big. Whatever happened, you're free now—and freedom isn't cheap. You've got an empty bank account, a starship that needs fuel, and a galaxy full of people willing to pay good Notes for someone else's problems to disappear. Sounds like it's time to become an Outrunner. Neon Odyssey is a space-fantasy adventure where music defines reality, and every world brings a new gig. Join a crew of adventurers, mercenaries, explorers, treasure hunters, and professional troublemakers as you chase the next big score. Hunt bounties through galactic casinos. Dodge dinosaurs on distant worlds. Cross swords with space pirates. Dive into the Hypergrid. Watch pixelated heroes struggle in climactic boss fights. We'll begin with a dedicated Session Zero where we'll create our crew and figure out how each of you wound up behind bars. Who got you locked up? What did you leave behind? Who did you meet inside? And now that you're free, what are you going to do with your second chance? Life among the stars isn't easy. Debt collectors are drooling over your bank account. Megacorps will use you up and toss you out an airlock before the record drops. And lurking deeper out there are the Discordant Tones, corrupting mortals to their own twisted time signatures. But who's got time for all that? You're almost out of starship fuel, you've got a bounty to collect, and somebody's gotta put food on the table. Nobody's saving the galaxy on an empty stomach.
