About the adventure
Play as mortals invited to an exclusive event! An underground rave and party in the abandoned subway tunnels miles beneath the surface, where no cell signal means true freedom from the boring slog of everyday worries. There are entities who have their sights set on you. Will you survive the night, or rise as one of them? Or maybe you're one of the hunters, scouting your prey. Does anyone catch your eye, or are they all carrion? || A Vampire: The Masquerade Sabbat one-shot, heavily inspired by Jackalope's The Night In Question LARP. Players will start either as mortals or as a member of the Sabbat, looking for those with the potential to Embrace. This is a unique one-shot, as you will come into it knowing the plot. There will be a vast power difference. There will be a party. There will be violence. There will be Embraces, willing or not. And then more violence. How your characters handle it is up to you, but despite the danger, mortal characters will either escape or arise as a vampire in the Sabbat. True, Final death is unlikely, but characters should still act accordingly and play into the fear. We're all here for the fun rather than to "win."

About me
Hello! My name is Jill and I am a Game Master, cosplayer, actual play performer, and voice actor! I've been running games for 4 years now and wouldn't want to be doing anything else. I've had a passion for telling stories and creating fantastical worlds my whole life, which naturally has extended to my love of TTRPGs. You can see examples of my work as an actual play cast member listed at ghostiejk.carrd.co !! The stories I like to tell have a focus on narrative elements rather than mechanics. If you love theater-of-the-mind, then I'm your gal! I tend to like a balance of rule-of-cool and rules lawyering, but the main focus should always be the story: if the mechanics get in the way or bog it down, I'm overruling it! I take safety very seriously at my tables. I will ask each participant to fill out some information anonymously ahead of time so we know which topics to avoid or tread carefully around. I *love* intense stories as much as the next person, so we need to know the boundaries we can play within!

Creating your character
Character creation is streamlined to prevent taking up too much time. There will be sheets with stats and powers already filled out. The only thing you need to do is pick one, then add personal details such as name, age, background, appearance, etc.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Please have a Roll20 account! This will be our main source of connection, including voice chat. If for some reason, the voice chat feature is no longer working, Discord will be our backup plan so it would be a good idea to have a Discord account as well. Just in case :) For our consent checklist, please have a Google account so you can copy the template to your Drive. There is the option to download and fill it out in a separate spreadsheet editor, but I cannot confirm if the formatting remains the same.
What Jill brings to the table
We won't really need the core rulebook for this one-shot, but I can provide a PDF rules cheat sheet. I may use quiet ambient music, which each player has the ability to individually disable on their end. I will be playing loose with the rules outside the core mechanics in this one. All combat will be theatre-of-the-mind, or narrated, in terms of PC vampire vs NPC human.

How Jill creates a safe table
I have a link to Matt Stormcrow's WoD consent checklist for each player to make a copy of and fill out. It is very comprehensive and covers most topics that may come up in play, with plenty of space to add your own info. I will go over this anonymously in session 0. As always, I use X cards during play. If at any point a player feels uncomfortable and wants the scene to stop, they can drag the X card onto the screen and it will display anonymously. With no questions asked, we will take a quick break before returning to a new scene. If at any point you need to step away for whatever reason, just send a quick "brb" in chat and play will continue as normal until you can return. No questions will be asked, no excuses need to be given.
