About the adventure

At the order of the god of the undead, his priests and other minions start preparations to free a powerful undead lich to lay waste to the realm and start a New Age. The undead power has began to corrupt the realm taking power from the god of nature. This is where the adventure begins. Grab your sword, dust off that spell book, and save the realm. All player skill levels welcome.

About me

I was first a Dungeon Master in 1978 running adventures for my friends. I have played and GM-ed many different TTRPG over the years but I have a deep passion for D&D. I look forward to meeting new players and hope to bring to life new stories of adventure. All are welcome in my games. I look forward to playing with new and veteran players and all in between.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need Discord (communication) D&D Beyond(Character Sheets), and Roll20 (maps and music) accounts to join the campaign. All rolls will need to be in Roll20. The players will respect one another, listen to one another, support one another, and do their utmost to preserve the cohesion of the adventuring party. If you cannot do this, this is not the campaign for you.

What Justin brings to the table

"It is the spirit of the game, not the letter of the rules, which is important" - Gary Gygax. This campaign is a mix of roleplay and combat. We will be using Discord for voice chat. I, as the DM, will respect the players in my campaign and as such I expect players to respect the DM and all other players. My main objective as a DM is to have fun, I would think that is the same for all players involved too. I will be fair and do my best (I will make mistakes). Each player should feel they have an opportunity for their voice to be heard and time to shine. When a player is talking I will be listening. I don't expect voice acting but a sense of roleplay is encouraged.

Homebrew rules

Homebrew rules can be discussed in Session 0 and I like to use the following. Critical Hits Rolling a 20: When you score a critical hit, you get to maximum extra dice for the attack's damage against the target. Roll all of the attack's damage dice then add the maximum to the roll. Then add any relevant modifiers as normal. Item Attunements: The number of attunements a character can have is based on the character's proficiency bonus with a minimum number of attunements of three.

Safety

How Justin creates a safe table

Session 0 Social Contract (Player Input) What in-game limits do you as a player want to include(Lines and Veils)—below are limits I, as the DM, am expecting—themes or scenes of sex(fade to black), exploitation, racial profiling, slavery, violence toward children and animals, gratuitous swearing, intra-party romance(fade to black), child abuse and neglect, emotional and physical abuse towards vulnerable adults, murder and attempted murder. Common out-of-game limits include shouting, vulgarity, rules lawyering, distracting use of cell phones or other electronics used while playing, and generally disrespectful behavior. How do you feel about being hit with splash damage? How do you feel about a player stealing from other players? How do you feel about PvP? How do you feel about Safety Cards? How do you feel about Stars & Wishes?
