About the adventure
Welcome to the Sunless Citadel! This is a quick campaign perfect for players new to D&D, but veterans will find plenty of enjoyment as well. There are dangers of all sorts, and rewards for those who seek them. I love to run games that highlight the world's dark and ominous atmosphere with moments of laughter and levity. Players can expect the opportunity to lean into their character, role-play, and fight powerful monsters in bursts of tactical combat. New players will be guided through the basic mechanics and can learn all about how the game works. I will help you understand everything you need to know to have fun in this, and future, games.

About me
I enjoy writing campaigns from beginning to end, crafting a world full of both wonder and terror. Players can expect moments of levity one session, and moments of great tension the next. Naturally, no AI is used in my writing process.

Creating your character
We will be making characters beforehand, however assistance can be granted at the start of the session. You can make your character using a paper or digital character sheet, but D&D Beyond's character creator is recommended for simplicity and integration. If you plan on using D&D Beyond, please join my campaign first by clicking on the link. This will allow you to access my books that contain extra class and species options for you to choose from. To allocate stats, we will be using be rolling for stats. You can do it in person by rolling 4 six-sided dice a total of six times. The sum of each roll will be a stat you can choose. For example, if I roll my dice and get a 14, I can choose to apply it to my wisdom stat. Thenceforth, my wisdom will be 14. I roll my 4 six-sided dice again and receive an 18, and I allocate that number to my strength stat. Now, my strength is 18. Do this for all six stats (Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Wisdom, Intelligence, Charisma).
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should prepare by having both a discord and a D&D Beyond account. We will be using discord for communication and D&D Beyond for dice rolls.
What Brandon brings to the table
In return, I will do my best to create an exciting and dynamic atmosphere full of detail. You can expect fun character voices and social interactions, ambience, and a reliance on rules. Sometimes, rule of cool is allowed, but it isn't the norm.
Homebrew rules
Inspiration (You can reroll an ability check) points are granted to players who do something exceedingly cool, interesting, or otherwise moving. When doing a death saving roll, you can have a moment of your life flash before your eyes.

How Brandon creates a safe table
Before we play, a conversation will be had about lines and veils (Things that are unacceptable and things that need to be approached with caution.) Also, I will be messaging each player privately to understand what they deem unacceptable. If something comes up, you can verbally express an 'X' in the discord call or privately message me about it. This is a hardline, and from there we can retcon or rewind and then move on. Afterwards, I will reach out to everyone individually to gauge your feelings about the campaign and other players.
