About the adventure

High above the clouds sits Castle High, a magical boarding school where students learn spells, train with swords, race enchanted brooms and explore mysterious floating islands. Between classes, you'll make friends, find rivals, get into trouble, and probably break a few school rules along the way. But something isn't right... Students have been disappearing from the skylands, and the adults seem determined not to talk about it. Then someone close to your group vanishes, leaving behind only a few clues. If the teachers won't give you answers, you'll have to find them yourselves even if that means sneaking out after curfew, investigating places you're definitely not supposed to be, and flying straight into danger!

About me

I’ve been playing tabletop RPGs since 2019 and running games since 2021, both online and in person. Outside of TTRPGs, I’ve worked as a software developer for the past four years, and I’m also a big reader. A lot of the books I love influence the way I run games, especially when it comes to character relationships, emotional moments, and that sense of being completely swept up in a story. What I love most about tabletop RPGs is the chance to roleplay, tell stories with other people, and create memorable moments together. I especially enjoy character interaction and romance in storytelling, and one of my biggest goals as a GM is to create D&D stories that capture some of the same feelings that my favourite books do. Most of my experience is with D&D 5e, both as a player and as a GM, and I’m very comfortable running games online using Roll20, Discord, and D&D Beyond. I aim to create welcoming, inclusive, and engaging games for both newer and more experienced players, with a balance of roleplay, exploration, combat, and character-driven moments. I also play Vampire: The Masquerade and would love to run it in the future. I also have two cats, who are very supportive of my tabletop hobby from a distance.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will take place during Session 0 before the campaign begins. We'll create characters together, starting at Tier 1, and I'll guide you through the process if you're new to Daggerheart. Your character is a student at Castle High, so we'll also establish your tower, why you enrolled, and your connection to Riley. You'll create a skyshard artifact for flight, which can be anything from a traditional broom to something completely unique.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Join the campaign's Discord server Create or log into an Alchemy VTT account and join the game using the invite provided. Make sure you have a stable internet connection and a working microphone. Complete your character creation during Session 0. You don't need any previous experience with Discord, Alchemy or Daggerheart. I'll help you get set up if you run into any issues!

What Drew brings to the table

I use music and ambient audio throughout my games to help set the mood, whether we're exploring the school, sneaking around after curfew or facing something dangerous in the skies. I also put a strong focus on roleplay and character interaction, using NPC voices and personalities to make the world feel alive. I want your characters to have room to make choices, build relationships and shape the story. I'm a big fan of the Rule of Cool when it makes for a more fun and memorable moment. Expect a collaborative, story-focused game where creativity is encouraged and everyone gets their moment to shine.

Safety

How Drew creates a safe table

Player comfort and safety are important to me. Before we begin, we'll go over Lines & Veils so everyone has the opportunity to set boundaries around topics they'd rather not have in the game. You can also message me privately at any point if something comes up that you're uncomfortable with. You never need to explain or justify a boundary I'll simply make sure that content isn't included or is handled differently. We'll also take regular breaks during sessions, and you're always welcome to ask for a break if you need one. My goal is to create a relaxed, respectful table where everyone feels comfortable participating and speaking up.
