About the adventure
A little oneshot in which i run the adventure "a most potent brew" by the Winghorn Press. Low level, low stances , medieval extermination quest. with some roleplay before and after the dungeon-y part. This will be my first try at hosting a game online instead of at a table so the price will be low and it surely will become a little wacky as i stumble into my first problems with technology. This Adventure won't be very serious and is a perfect chance for joke characters in my opinion, bring your worst ideas. The game would be perfect for you : if you like a simple dungeon adventure at a low powerlevel if you want a lighthearted , no strings attached, oneshot to play if you don't mind a few mistakes or delays (if you want to burn a character idea you certainly won't bring anywhere important)

About me
To me the most beautiful thing about roleplaying games is the unlimited freedom of choice. No buttons, no hard rules. You think of something and you can do it, a possibility, so far, no video game can give. I'd always rather make up a quick solution for a players's idea instead of staying true to a rulebook. I spent years as the DM of a sandbox campaign from level 1 to 20 and above, feeble adventurers rising to be monsters, scientists, queens, and gods. They decided for themselves and forged their stories. As a DM, I believe my role is in keeping the world their stories take place in together and breathing life into it. To actually run a long sandbox campaign online instead of around a table, I'd have to find willing players and get to know the software ecosystem. But until then, I try to bring at least some of that sandbox feeling into shorter campaigns.

Creating your character
The Level for this campaign is 3 Characters are to be made under dnd 5e rules, 2024 and 2012 rules are compatible enough to transfer between them. Create whatever you want. If you bring homebrew show me beforehand so i can see if it fully breaks all balance and give a thumbs up, fixes or a thumbs down. bring your own character beforehand or let one be randomly generated for you.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Discord and additionally Roll20 Discord will be the main requirement, a Link to the server where games are hosted will be provided. if you're statisfied with voice control and a stream, roll20 isn't necessary.
What Killian O. brings to the table
This adventure will be a fairly standard medieval fantasy quest. I'll play music in the background, voice characters, and try to keep the world borders as soft as possible. Battlemaps will be provided for the main adventure, but diverging paths more often than not lead into the theater of the mind. I'll place you a bit before the actual adventure as an already established party. Giving you some room for free play before the group arrives at the brewery.
Homebrew rules
Roleplay in combat, if you make the effort to roleplay something cooler then "i attack" within combat i will pull something out of my *** to make you roll for it, do cool maneuvers, tricks, throw tables, disarm, lock weapons, prepare for an attack, break stuff. or atleast... attempt to. Flanking, advantage if enemies are surrounded Drinking a potion as a bonus action certainly others i have deeply internalized but will only notice if they are pointed out. Death is optional, if players don't decide for player deaths they will be disabled by default and replaced by unconciousness. and/or injuries (debuffs)

How Killian O. creates a safe table
Before we start playing, a short mini session zero will be held. By default I assume the content warnings for this adventure determine the bounds of possible topics. Further wishes to adjust acceptable topics can be made. preferably in session zero. (One of you really hates spiders; I can replace it quickly, etc.) If despite prior discussion topics come up that disturb you, i would prefer audible signals to quickly get the attention and make others stop. In this case use - the Discord airhorn sound effect - , but everything goes. After the session a debriefing will be held, evaluating what went well and what didn't, to give all of us the possibility to improve and learn.
