About the adventure
A decommissioned support station orbiting the frozen industrial planet Ogre is flickering back in business. Core systems report operational, life support is online, signals are flashing on the consoles, and it’s all yours to command. Suit up, grab your toolkit, answer the calls. There are plenty of great opportunities to die in space. ‘The Outer Rims’ is a player-driven, open-ended lo-fi recyclepunk sci-fi campaign using the rules-light indie game ‘Death in Space’ to pair the cozy blue-collar routine of serialized station management with the lingering dread of cosmic horror. You play as post-human space truckers, contractors, operators, and jury-riggers trying to carve out a living from the salvage of a dead civilization. In this game, you will build, expand and maintain your haven on space-trucker wages; refuel, repair and service long hauler freighters; build beefs and alliances with neighboring orbital stations and satellite crews; trade with spacers and travellers; try your luck trafficking with scavengers of the junk belts or exploring high-risk derelicts for pre-war artifacts or still compatible spare parts; or even get involved with the quiet politics of the dying Tenebris system. All the while the ruins and memories of a more advanced age unravel around you on a cosmic scale. Or when Sundew Valley meets Event Horizon to trade spare parts for oxygen and duct tapes.

About me
Hey, I’m DC, a GM of the forever type. Started playing and running AD&D 2nd edition in the ‘90s, soon extending into some of the next gen games of the era (Ars Magica, Call of Cthulhu, Cyberpunk 2020, Earthdawn, White Wolf’s Vampire, Werewolf, and Mage). I’ve picked up the hobby again with D&D 5e (as you do) around 2020, and running games in English since then, both online and at the table. I’m also most eager to branch out into some of the interesting new stuff that came out lately.

Creating your character
No prep or research needed on your side. We'll be rolling up characters on session zero (it's an easy enough process).
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Make sure you can connect to Roll20 before the game. Check if your Discord's audio/video is operational, using a webcam is mandatory. Please use earplugs or headphones and avoid playing from your phone whenever possible.
What DC brings to the table
We'll primarily play theatre of the mind on Discord, with Roll20 handling character sheets, clocks, dice, handouts, and the occasional map. Session zero will start with an introduction or brief refresher on setting and system, we’ll discuss expectations for the planned campaign, and cover safety tools. Assuming all goes well, we'll create your crew and characters, and establish your place and contacts in the Procyon system. No extra/further preparation is needed on your part.

How DC creates a safe table
We'll talk over themes, expectations, as well as lines and veils for the game during session zero, covering most of our bases. We'll use stars and wishes after sessions to steer the game and manage any problem or misunderstanding that may emerge. Finally, feel free to send me any feedback or message if you feel there's something that needs addressing.
