About the adventure

"Sometime during 2025, The Magnus Archives podcast became viral again. It's the reason I joined the "Magnus Institute" club at college, but I never thought that it was all... Well, I can barely call it truth. I can't even begin to comprehend what is happening right now." "All I know is this: everything in it is true, and whoever uploaded it is trying to warn us about the Fears to come. But I fear... [chuckle] I fear they never left. If you are truly someone who believes in the supernatural, I need your help. I can't face the Horrors alone." This is the ad your character finds when looking up for extracurricular activities in your campus. You will play as a uni student, someone who gets interested in the supernatural and joins the "Magnus Institute" Club at your university in the city of Valparaíso, Chile. And you will soon find that it hides more secrets than you can imagine.

About me

🌟 Heyo! I’m Nina, a Chilean Game Master with over 10 years of experience running games! 💬 With me as your GM, you can expect: - A supportive, friendly, and flexible game master - A focus on your goals, character arcs, and fun - A safe and inclusive table for everyone - A sprinkle of silliness, when appropriate! Whether you’re brand new to the game or a seasoned adventurer, I aim to create a welcoming space full of exciting encounters, collaborative storytelling, and laughter. I especially love helping beginners learn the ropes and discover the magic of roleplay. I run games in English or Spanish (¡también hablo español!), so if you're looking for an adventure in either language, you're in the right place. 🎲 Kindness, camaraderie, and creativity are my guiding stars. Let’s roll some dice and tell some amazing stories together! Finally, I don't use any generative AI in my games. Instead, I either draw art myself, or use Picrews with commercial licenses. I expect my players to also follow a no-AI policy in my games and community, and if you need help getting resources, I will gladly help you!

Character creation

Creating your character

We'll create characters during session 0, and we'll use the Cypher Tools Character Builder to create them. We'll be making a Core Character build native from Cypher (2nd ed). We'll use the same tool to roll dice and keep track of resources, as well as to level up when it comes up. I will be providing all the content you need to play the game. If you're new to the system, I'll help you through the entire process. More details will be discussed during session 0

The current party

If you don't know anything about Cypher or The Magnus Archives, you can still play! You will learn the system and the setting as you play. Listening to the podcast previous to the game is encouraged but not required at all!
