About the adventure

"They’ve tried to tell you that the future has arrived and everything is fine now, that it’s not the time to make a fuss. But you know better. You’re a scoundrel, a chancer, a troublemaker. You know the streets and you’re not afraid of danger. The moment is now, everything you’ve dreamed of is within reach." - Blades '68 Jump into the newest Forged In The Dark system, Blades 68! This three session arc will introduce players to crew and character creation, and play through the fledgling crew's rise to an established power in the city of Doskvol.

About me

Hey You! Wanna play some Forged in the Dark? Me: A GM with over a dozen years of rpg experience. You: Someone interested in playing a FitD game with a GM who wants to lean into the story the players want to tell. My favorite part of collaborative storytelling are the memories that stick with you after the session. Moments where the table took a big creative choice that led to big laughs (or maybe even a tear or two). Years of playing and running D&D 3E and Pathfinder gave me a foundation for getting crunchy when I need to, but awesome storytellers have taught me that what keeps bringing me back to the game are the character moments. Currently loving the Forged in the Dark system for focusing on the narrative while still providing a bit of mechanical crunch. I love welcoming new folks to the hobby, and I welcome folks new to the FitD system, or rpgs in general, to see my table as a space where they have a seat waiting for them. So, come on! Let's play!

What PJ brings to the table

This game will be a cinematic Theater of the Mind game, with supplemental images and character sheets hosted in roll20. While I try to accurately state the rules of a system when we are playing a learning game, if leaning into Rule of Cool helps me to 'yes, and' my players' choices then I'm into it. Forged In The Dark systems encourage players to 'drive it like they stole it' when making character choices, so it is important to me as a GM to encourage bold swings. During crew and character creation, we'll establish game tone and safety tools. I'm imagining splashy action sequences with a bit of goofiness. However, if I have a table of players that want to lean into a grittier espionage arc, I'm happy to oblige.
