About the adventure
You saw it in your dreams, night after night. A lonely manor, shrouded in flame and cradled in a grove that opens up like a maw. Calling you home, away from a life of sleepwalking and into a hall of secrets that is the answer to every burning question you have ever asked. You chased after every rumor, scoured every dusty tome, to find it. And now, standing at the gates, you need only cross the threshold to be welcomed home. Each day, you dig deeper into the manor's secrets, as the clock ticks and restless spirits moan. And each night, you wander the far shores of your dreams, leaving behind precious memories when you wake. What strange dreamscapes have you wandered unaware? What eldritch power feasts upon your memories and replaces them with malevolent whispers? And can a manor so steeped in the curse of the past ever let you go? Alone... locked in... You hear our hiss... O, what sweet fear... Leads you to bliss!

About me
To you who join me at the table, welcome home! Through astronomy modeling to folklore research, amidst fraught years in game design school and software engineering, from comic stage plays to dramatic recitals... I've taken a twisting path to role-playing games. Each of these former roles has taught me invaluable lessons, which I bring to the table. Confidence in my ability to improvise character moments. A systematizing mind to design challenges that test characters to their limits. Technical aptitude to use virtual tabletops to their fullest. An instinct for tapping into characters' hidden motives and how they can elevate drama. And an abiding appreciation for the shared humanity that binds us all together. Let us weave new stories together, full of mirth and mischief, love and laughter, and no shortage of groan-inducing puns.

Creating your character
Prior to your first session, create a character of level and wealth matching the party in your game's Foundry server. I recommend a premium account on Pathbuilder (https://pathbuilder2e.com/), which supports character creation using the table's variant rules and allow for easy import into Foundry via the Pathmuncher module (https://foundryvtt.com/packages/pathmuncher). For detailed character creation options and restrictions, refer to the "Homebrew Rules" section. For information about the current party composition and any third-party rules the table has agreed to use, see the "Recruitment Notes" section. You're also welcome to use the game's dedicated character creation channel on Discord to propose builds and coordinate with other players, or to use the GM as a resource for answering questions or importing characters into the game server.

How Saoirse, Veil Adept creates a safe table
Besides typical Pathfinder action and adventure, Malevolence presents a fully detailed haunted house in the tradition of gothic horror—a place filled with tragedy and possessed of a sordid past, buried within. Players encounter the still-fresh scars of the dark deeds left to fester within, including body horror, filicide, domestic violence against adults and children, gore and mutilation, memory alteration, mental illness and trauma, and suicide. As a result, the table is for mature audiences only. New players should fill out the consent safety checklist, accessible through preparation materials.
